Unit 7 The birthday party Topic 1 When is your birthday? How to Express the Date in English?
Ⅰ. Material analysis
本課是第七單元第一個話題。本話題主要學習關(guān)于日期、出生時間、出生地點、物體形狀特征的表達方式,be動詞的一般過去時和序數(shù)詞。
本課的主要活動是學習怎樣表達日期,熟練的掌握相關(guān)考點。并初步了解be動詞的一般過去時;還能通過一系列聽、讀、寫的練習活動掌握月份,日期的表達法。
Ⅱ. Teaching aims
1.Knowledge aims
(1)能夠熟練讀、寫表示年份和月份的單詞: January, February, March, April, May 等; (2)能夠區(qū)分基數(shù)詞和序數(shù)詞,并能熟練地運用序數(shù)詞來表達日期。
(3)能夠用英語熟練表達關(guān)于詢問和回答某人的出生地和出生年月的表達方式。 2.Skill aims
(1)能正確寫出月份單詞。
(2)能正確寫出基數(shù)詞和對應(yīng)的序數(shù)詞,記住其變化規(guī)律。
(3)能根據(jù)圖文就表達年月、談?wù)摮錾暝潞统錾攸c的表達方式進行簡單的交流。 3.Emotional aims
(1)學會感恩父母,珍惜生命,努力學習
(2)能夠體會到學習英語的樂趣,養(yǎng)成良好的學習習慣。
Ⅲ. Analysis of students
七年級下學期的學生已經(jīng)具有一定的英語素養(yǎng),但是依然缺乏正確有效的引導。本節(jié)課講述的日期是全新的內(nèi)容,在全英文教學的背景下理解應(yīng)該是有一定的難度,特別是對于英語素養(yǎng)較差的同學。故而在進行教學設(shè)計時,設(shè)計了很多鞏固和練習的活動。
Ⅳ. The key points and difficult points
1.The key points
(1) Use month and ordinal numbers to express the date. (2) Talk about the birthday. 2.The difficult points
(1) Know the differences between in/on/to. (2) Has the ability to listen to date.
V.Teaching procedures
Stage 1 Getting students ready for learning Step 1 Greetings
Step 2 Routine task:Do a short report about students’ family. (homework )
Stage 2 Pre-listening Step 1 Let’s chant.
(Purpose:Through the song, we can lead in the 12 months. ) F, F, February

(Purpose:To make students know more about the months and the seasons.)
Students are divided into eight groups ,and then they will have a competition.At last ,the teacher lead students to make a summary on the blackboard.

(Purpose:To make students consolidate the memory about months and some festivals.) Work alone: Fill in the blanks by themseves.
Work in group:Discuss in groups ,and find out the right answers. 1.Spring Festival is in _______ or ________. 2.Tree Planting Day is in ________. 3.Mother's Day is in __________. 4.National Day is in_________. 5.Teachers' Day is in _________.

(Purpose:To lead in Ordinal Numbers and train the ability of summing up the rules. )
Step 5 Finish the calendar.
Stage 3 While-listening
Step 1 Listen to 1a and answer the following two questions. (Purpose:To train the listening ability about the date.) 1. When is Kangkang's birthday? 2.What's the date today?
Stage 4 Post-listening
Step 1 Group work: Ask and answer. Look at the calendar and circle the birthday of group members by using the following sentences. Then the “boss” will do the report. (Purpose: To practice the date and show themsevels)
