教學目標
(1)知識與技能目標
A. 掌握一些與毒品有關的詞匯:
addictive, break into, cannabis, drug dealer, inject, powerful, heart rate等
B. 技能
通過閱讀訓練,培養學生獲取語篇信息的能力,掌握閱讀技巧,如略讀,訓讀(skimming, scanning, and careful-reading);培養學生分析、處理、利用信息的能力;培養學生敘述的能力。
(2)過程與方法
培養學生篩選局部和整體信息的能力和獨立閱讀能力,通過自主學習和協作學習,獲取信息和處理信息的能力。
( 3 ) 情感態度和價值觀目標
讓學生進一步認識到毒品的危害性,提高自我保護意識,養成良好生活習慣,珍愛生命,遠離毒品。
2學情分析
教學對象為高一學生,通過初中三年的學習,大部分學生已掌握一定的語言技能,具有一定的語言學習基礎,語言學習興趣較濃,表現欲較強,但良好的語言學習習慣仍需進一步加強與鞏固。因此,教師要通過創設語境,設計難度適中、可操作性強的任務,并且配以清晰的指令,和簡潔的示范,激發學生積極、主動地進行語言學習活動。
3重點難點

幫助學生在閱讀過程中正確地理解課文,并掌握與毒品相關的部分詞匯:Addictive, break into, cannabis, drug dealer, inject, powerful, heart rate
(2)教學難點
如何運用所學的詞匯以分組討論的方式復述課文。

4.1第一學時
4.1.1教學活動
活動1【活動】Step 1 Greeting and vocabulary-checking (3分鐘 )
檢查學生的單詞預習情況(檢查P 12的activity 1單詞練習)。給出學生英語釋義,讓學生寫出對應的單詞或短語。如:
(1) The pressure that your heart applied to blood to send it round the body (blood pressure )
(2). Once you‘ve started something, you can not stop it. (addictive )
(3). A person who sells drugs illegally (drug dealer )
(4). A person who takes drugs and is unable to stop (drug addict )
(5). To enter a house illegally probably to steal something (break into )
(6). To use needle to put liquid into a person’s body (inject )
活動2【導入】Step 2 Lead-in (4分鐘)
Show students several pictures about poppy. Ask students: When you see those pictures, what words come to your mind? Brainstorming
利用多媒體呈現幾張罌粟花的照片,讓學生以頭腦風暴的形式說出他們聯想到的詞語,之后我引入毒品和與毒品相關的內容。繼續呈現三幅關于毒品圖片,分別為opium (鴉片),cannabis (大麻),cocaine (可卡因),幫助學生了解毒品的一些類型。隨后呈現吸毒者瘦骨嶙峋的照片,與之前呈現的美麗花朵作對比,讓學生意識到毒品危害。接著幻燈片中引入課本中圖片,讓學生猜測主人公Adam發生了什么,從而導入文章的學習。
活動3【講授】Step3 Fast-reading(11分鐘)
1. Skimming掠讀(5分鐘)
Read the two paragraphs on page 12 quickly, then decide what the topic of each article is. ( Topic sentences, reading skills)
Match the best title with Article 1 and Article 2.

2、 Scanning(掃讀)(6分鐘)
Scan Parts 1-6 on page 13 and decide which Articles they belong to and what the right order is. Ask students if there are words that they do not know.通過上一個活動學生已知兩篇文章的主要內容。閱讀13頁1-6段,判斷這些段落分別屬于哪篇文章。

活動4【講授】Step4 Listening and Careful-reading (8分鐘)
1. Read article1 on page 12-13 and answer the following questions:
(1) How old was Adam when he used drugs?
(2) Who did he buy cannabis from?
(3) What are the two ways of taking drugs?
(4) What was the second drug that the man sold him?
(5) How did Adam pay for the drugs?
(6) What did the police do?
2. Careful-reading 仔細閱讀,將正確信息填入表中。(5分鐘)
Please read Part 1 to Part 6 carefully, and fill in the blanks.
Adam is a 19-year-old boy. He used to be a drug addict. Cocaine is a kind of drug, which can increase user’s heart ( 1 ) and blood ( 2 ) and also causes ( 3 ) behaviors. In order to ( 4 ) the drugs, Adam ( 5 ) ( 6 ) a house and ( 7 ) a television for money. He was ( 8 ) by the police. At last, he stopped using drugs and helped others stop ( 9 ) drugs.
活動5【練習】Step 5 Retell the passage(10分鐘)
1.Ask students to make sentences with phrases that we have learned. And then I will set an example to retell the article together with students.
2.Ask students to work in groups , and try to use key words to retell the outline of the articles .
3.Let several groups to show their performance.

活動6【作業】Step 6 Summary and Homework(9分鐘)
1.Summarize what we can learn from the text. From the text, we haven known that drugs are very harmful to our health. We should not only keep away from drugs and live a healthy life but also help others to stop using drugs.
2.Work in groups , write a letter for drug addicts in order to persuade them to give up taking drugs. Then show your letters next class.
總結學到的內容,并讓學生運用所學知識向吸毒者寫一封勸說信。
