1 Knowledge Objects:
Words: opinion, skill. Typical, cut out, quick, continue, compare …with, crazy, push, development, cause, usual.
Structures:
The tired children don’t get home until after 7:00 pm.
Many of them are leaning exam skills so that they can get into a good high school and later a good university.
Although it’s normal to want successful children, it’s even more important to have happy children.
2 Ability Objects:
(1) Train students’ reading skills by finding the topic sentences and guessing the meanings of new words from the context.
(2) Encourage students to talk about after-school activities and express their own opinions about them.
3 Moral Objects
Learn to compare the problems of Chinese families with American families and summarize the similarities and differences between Chinese and Western cultures.

教學(xué)內(nèi)容分析:
這一課時是人教版新目標八年級下第四單元的Section B 2a-2d。第四單元的語言目標是能詢問,陳述自己或他人的困難和麻煩,能針對別人的困境提出解決的辦法和建議。Section B部分進一步拓寬了本單元的話題內(nèi)容,不僅探討了如何通過各種活動來減輕壓力,還比較了東西方家長對子女教育的態(tài)度和做法。該部分的學(xué)習(xí)將有利于學(xué)生學(xué)會換位思考,幫助他們逐步建立正確積極的生活態(tài)度和價值觀。2a-2e是Section B 的閱讀教學(xué)部分,學(xué)習(xí)內(nèi)容如下:
1 談?wù)撜n外活動和課外學(xué)習(xí)班給學(xué)生帶來的問題并能用目標語言給出建議。
2 本片閱讀屬于本單元的第二次閱讀,側(cè)重于閱讀策略的指導(dǎo),要求學(xué)生掌握并能使用閱讀策略閱讀文本,獲取信息。(學(xué)會在語境中感知和體會詞匯含義,學(xué)會根據(jù)上下文猜測生詞的含義。)
3. 在理解所讀內(nèi)容的基礎(chǔ)上總結(jié)出中美家庭共同存在的問題,并能用自己的話來闡述文中不同人的觀點和看法。學(xué)生能就此問題提煉自己的觀點和建議,并嘗試另寫一段,拓展閱讀文本內(nèi)容。
學(xué)生情況分析:
本課的授課對象是廬江中學(xué)實驗初中八下學(xué)生,班級學(xué)生相對較多,但學(xué)生接觸過相關(guān)材料的英語學(xué)習(xí),有一定基礎(chǔ),接受能力較強;具有良好的學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣;喜歡合作、競爭、探究學(xué)習(xí)。但學(xué)生對英語知識的建構(gòu),閱讀技巧的運用,閱讀能力的開發(fā)等仍然處于待提高階段。所以教師在設(shè)計課程時要充分考慮其實效性,上課過程中應(yīng)鼓勵他們樹立信心,積極參與,樂于模仿,敢于開口,積極參與。

T :Today we will read a passage about students’ after-school activities in American. What’s the school life for American children?

復(fù)述課文是訓(xùn)練學(xué)生記憶的有效手段。課文復(fù)述不僅要求學(xué)生讀懂、熟讀課文,記得課文的主要內(nèi)容,而且要記得課文中的一些重難點語句,這就要求學(xué)生細心耐心的去閱讀課文,理解課文,并且抓住課文的主要細節(jié),也讓學(xué)生從中養(yǎng)成良好的閱讀習(xí)慣。課文復(fù)述也可以調(diào)動學(xué)生參與的積極性從而讓學(xué)生開口說英語。

【設(shè)計意圖】教師的閱讀設(shè)計不能僅停留在對文本內(nèi)容的處理上,而要引導(dǎo)學(xué)生對所學(xué)內(nèi)容進行梳理,文本知識框架不僅包括篇章內(nèi)部結(jié)構(gòu)及邏輯關(guān)系,而且包括作者特定的寫作手法。同時也為下面的討論提供語言支持。
2 Discussion: What do you think of after-school activities?
T:Now more and more children are having different kinds of after-school classes. As a middle school student, what do you think of it? Talk about the advantages and disadvantages of having after-school classes. Fill in the table and have a debate.
設(shè)計意圖: 進行課外補習(xí)到底是利大于弊,還好是弊大于利,引導(dǎo)學(xué)生進行一番辯論并且能給出原因。提示學(xué)生應(yīng)用所學(xué)的句子.教師可提供分正反兩方一些幫助。

T:I think some of the activities are very important and useful for our future. But too many after-school activities will make us under too much stress. And it is crazy to compare us with other students. We should have time to do what we enjoy doing to relax ourselves.
