Teaching aims:
After learning, students will be able to identify direct speech from indirect speech and know how to change direct speech into indirect speech skillffully. Then they can finally master this grammar point and employ it.

Step ILead-in: Watch and observe
Let students watch a video and then lead to the direct and indirect speech. Step II What is direct and indirect speech?
The teacher lead students to summarize the definition of direct and indirect speech:
直接引述別人的原話,把它放在引號內(nèi),這叫直接引語(Direct speech)。說話人用自己的話轉(zhuǎn)述別人的話,一般情況下由賓語從句構(gòu)成,這叫間接引語(Indirect speech)。 Step III When to use them?找教案 http://www.zhaojiaoan.com
The teacher asks students:When do we use Direct Speech and when do we use Indirect Speech? Possible answer: 直接引述別人的原話的時候用直接引語,說話人用自己的話轉(zhuǎn)述別人的話用間接引語。
Step VHow to change
The students will learn the use of Direct Speech and Indirect Speech (statements and questions). First try to make clear to the students what direct and indirect speech is, with the help of the practice in Step III. Then give them some examples. 下列情況下,直接引語變間接引語時時態(tài)不變:
a.直接引語如果陳述的是客觀事實、真理、諺語、名言警句、習(xí)慣性動作, 當(dāng)其變?yōu)殚g接引語時,不管主句用什么時態(tài),間接引語的時態(tài)都不變。
b.直接引語中有明確的表示過去時間的時間狀語(如in 2015)時,變?yōu)殚g接引語時, 時態(tài)不變。
c.主句的時態(tài)是各種現(xiàn)在時或?qū)頃r態(tài)時,直接引語變?yōu)殚g接引語時,時態(tài)通常不變。 StepVI Practice
For Ex 1, get the students to look at the sentences carefully in pairs in order to find out the difference between direct speech and indirect speech. Guide the students to find out the changes in pronoun forms, word order, adverbials and so on, especially the verb tenses, the underline parts. Ask the students to pay attention to the reporting clause. For Ex 2, ask the students to do it by themselves, then check. Step VII Homework
1. Practice of WB (P42.1 &P 43.2)
2. Ask the students to think out different ways to solve the problems about making friends, preparing the materials about the debate. Get the students to know the problem was that Anne had made a friend in the hiding place _ the son of another family hiding with them, but her father was not happy about this. The topic is: how do you help to solve the problem between Anne and her father.Do you agree with Anne or her father?Use specific reasons to support your solutions.
