Teaching Procedures
Step Ⅰ Warm-up and lead-in 1. Greet students.
2. Enjoy a song: Last weekend Answer the questions.
(1) What are the children in this song talking about? (2) How was their weekend?
[Purpose] The song can attract students’ interests, and the questions will lead to the topic of this class. Step Ⅱ Before the story
1. Show a photo of Zip and Zoom, and tell students “Zoom and Zip were talking about last weekend, too.”
2. Show the other photo to students, and let students guess “How was Zoom’s weekend?”
Students look at the picture and guess.
3. Let students watch cartoon and find out the answer. Answer: busy
Step Ⅲ Know and retell the story
1.Ask students “What did Zoom do last weekend?”
2.Show some pictures to students and let students guess what Zoom did last weekend.

3.Let students watch cartoon, check the answers.
4.Help students imitate the conversation between Zip and Zoom. 5.Encourage students to look at the pictures on the blackboard and retell the story.

[Purpose] Help students know the story and improve their ability of speaking.
Step Ⅳ After the story
1. Let students think about “How was your weekend?” and “What did you do last weekend?”
2. Encourage students to share what they did with their partners. [Purpose] It can help students to cultivate the consciousness of cooperation and improve the ability of speaking.
3.Tell students a reporter will come to our class and interview them about their weekend.
4.Pretend to be a reporter and interview some students. (1) How was your weekend? (2) What did you do last weekend? Students think about it and answer.
Encourage some students to be the reporter and interview the other students.
Choose the good reporter and speaker.

5.Tell students that the weekend is very short and time is limited. Let them know that we should use the limited time to do some meaningful things.
Explain the “meaningful thing” consists “events in life” and “little thing in life”.
6.Let students think and talk about what meaningful thing they have done.
7.Encourage students to continue to do meaningful things. And tell them that will enrich our lives. Step Ⅴ Homework
A 1.Role play the story to your parents.
