Step1. Preparation
1.Greetings
2. Ask students about the dates for the traditional festivals. T: when is Teacher’s Day? Ss: It’s on September 10th. ……
Step2.Presentation
Teach the new words from 2a by showing pictures of these activities and explain some phrases as School Day, Sports Day, art festival to help students understand them well…
Then ask students to check the activities they have at their school and talk about these activities whit their partners. T: Now you will read a school notice. The students have a lot of things to do this term. They are very busy. Let’s read through it quickly and underline the activities they have and circle the dates they have the activities.
Ss: They have a school trip in the afternoon on September 21st …
T: Read the passage again and answer the following questions (1) How many activities do they have this term? (2)Which month has the most(最多)activities? (3)What games do they have in October? (4)Where do they have a book sale? (5)What activities do you like? Why?
Leave students several minutes to read and finish it. Then check the answers.
