教學目標 
1. Learning objectives:  (1) Master the reading strategy ——scanning.
                                     ( 2) Read and understand the article . Master the main idea of the article.
2. Ability aims: To improve the students reading ability.
3. Emotion aims: Teach the students to love animals and to protect the environment .
2學情分析 
Aithough the students are in Grade Ejght , they don't have much knowledge about English . They don't have a big vocabulary. They can't use the reading strategy to finish the reading tasks. I need to improve their reading ability. This class I teach them a new reading strategy and help them finish the reading tasks.
3重點難點 
Key points : 1. Master the reading strategy ——scanning.
                    2. Read and understand the article , then finish the reading tasks.
                    3. Students can talk about something according to the article.
Difficult points : Improve the students reading ability.

4.1 第一學時
4.1.1教學活動
活動1【導入】unit 7 Section B (2a-2e) 
Step 1     Greetings
Step 2     Lead-in
Ask the students to watch a video , and talk about pandas.
 Watch  a video about pandas.
T: What is the video about ?
Ss: It’s about  pandas. 
T: Can you say something about pandas?
S1: They are cute.
S2: The pandas are black and white. The baby pandas are pink.
S3: ...
T: OK, very good. Today we'll read the article about pandas.
活動2【講授】unit 7 Section B (2a-2e) 
Step 3:  Presentation
 Learn the new reading strategy—— scanning.
T: Before reading , we'll learn a new reading strategy——scanning.
    First what is scaaning used for?
(Look at the blackboard)
S: It is used for...
T: Well, we know if we use scanning , we can save the reading  time .What is scanning? You can find the answer in you book.
(Read the books)
T: Who can tell us what is scanning?
S: It  means moving your eyes quickly dow the pageto find specific information.
T: Good,!

Step 4: Read the article
 Use the new strategy to read the article and finish the tasks.
T: Let' s scan the article and find out what these numbers mean?
(Ask the students to read the article )
T: Are you ready?
Ss: Yes.
T: Let's look what the numbers mean.
S1: 10 means ...
S2: 12 means...
S3: 300 means ...
S4: 2000 means...
T: Ok, good job . You can master the scanning. Next, let's scan the article again and  answer the five questions in 2c.OK?
Ss: OK.
(Scan the article again)
T: Are you ready?
Ss: Yes.
T: Let's answer the questions. Number one...
(Answer the five questions)
T: All of you did a good job.

Step 5  Read the article in details
Read the article again and answer the questions.
T: This time let's read the article in details and answer the questions.First, let's read the first paragragh and answer the first
     question.
( Ask the students read the first paragraph)

T: Read the second paragragh and answer the second paragraph.
( Ask the students to read  the second paragraph)
T: OK, who can answer the second question?

After the stdents answer the four questions, they have understood the main idea of the article.

Step 6  Finish the mind map.
 Ask the students to finish the mind map according to the article.
T: Let' s finish the mind map according to the article. Who can come     to the front to do it ?
Ss:...
After they finish it ,check the answers together.

Step 7 Retell the article
 Ask the students to try to retell the article.

Step 8 Practice
T: As we know, besides pandas ,we have many other endangered animals . Let's talk about how to protect them. You can talk about in groups.
(The students talk about the endangered animals in groups)
T: OK, are you ready?

 Ask some students to talk about the eddangered animals in English . They will think out somr good ways to protect the animals.

Step 9 Summary
Summerize the key points of this class, and teach them to love animals and protect the environment . 
T: Today we read the article about pandas. We have known  there are many endangered animals. Look at the pictures,please.
( Ask the students to look at some pictures about the animals)
T: Protecting animals is protecting environment .Protecting environment is protecting ourselves. So what will you do?
Ss: We should protect the animals and environment.
T: Very good.

Step 10 Homework 
Write a short passage abou the animals and how to protect the endangered animals.
