I. Teaching aims and learning objectives By the end of the lesson, students are expected to: 1.retell what New York is like;
2. use the new words and phrases correctly in a similar situation;
3. imitate the structure of the article to introduce some other places of interest in New York.

III. Teaching procedures Step 1 Lead-in
1. Let’s sing “Memory” together!
【設計意圖:設置情境,以合唱Memory作為導入,引發學生再次進入學習情境。】
Step 2 Review on the whole and present the key words and phrases
1)Fill the form and review the website Travel Around the World in Eight Hours Explain “click (on) the…icon” and “at the top/bottom of...”
【設計意圖:通過填寫表格的方式復習有關紐約的基本信息,并呈現兩個短語的用法。】
2)Fill in the blanks about Wall Street
Explain “trade” and “at the southern end of...”
【設計意圖:通過圖片\真實的情景練習,學習有關方位表達的詞匯,并利用情境進行鞏固】 3)Correct the mistakes about Times Square
Explain“trade”and Brainstorm When do we often gather?

Step 4 Production: Let’s update the website!
Brainstorm and work out the structure by answering What information can you offer? 1) Name of the place 2) Location
3) Details: things people can see and activities people can do 4) History 5) Opinion Group Work Requirements:
1. Collect the information from group members and choose one place to talk about 2. Sum up the ideas make them into phrases or sentences 3. Write down your ideas on the white board.
