Enable the Ss to understand the damage caused by natural disasters.  
Enable the Ss to have a good understanding of the importance of protecting environment.

Enable the Ss to take some measures to protect our environment. Teaching important points教學(xué)重點 
Listen to the speech about environmental problems made by an expert and different measures taken by different countries. Teaching difficult points教學(xué)難點 
Listen for detailed information and explain the influence caused by gases from cars and factories.

                            Teaching procedures & ways教學(xué)過程與方式 Step 1. Lead in  
Guide Ss to think about our beautiful planet. They will enjoy a short video about natural disasters and let Ss discuss about disasters. Then draw a conclusion of how human and nature influence our climate and planet.  Step 2.  Review 
Review words and phrases related to this period, making preparation of this lesson. And read a dialogue with the words and phrases.  Step3. Listening Practice 
Task1. Listen to the material and fill in the table below. Listen again and check the answers.

                            groups to have a discussion, coming up with ideas and suggestions to protect our climate. Then choose one speaker to give a presentation to the class.

3.  Prepare for READING on P32
