活動(dòng)1【導(dǎo)入】pre-reading
Step 1. Pre-reading
Purpose: To arouse students’ interest in learning about the play.
1. Show some pictures about Audrey Hepburn. Ask students to answer the following question. Do you know who she is? 
活動(dòng)2【導(dǎo)入】warmming up
2Ask students to collect some information about her,check it.
 3. Ask the Ss to retell the Greek story according to the picture above, call out students to do it to the whole class.
活動(dòng)3【講授】Fast reding
1,Give students time to read text quckliy.Then try to find out the information as quickly as possible
Questions:1. What are the main characters of this act?
                  2,What do they do respectively(各自地)?
                 3.What are they doing at the beginning of the play?
活動(dòng)4【講授】Careful reading
1. Ask Ss to read the text carefully and try to get more details from the text and then find out the keys to questions.
(1)Eliza greet gentleman in order to ___________.
(2)Why Eliza begin to cry?
(3) Higgins believed that a person can be judged by ________.
Step43.  Enjoy Act One in the film. While watching, please pay particular attention to the different ways they speak and behave to each other.
Step 4 Role play
T: In your group, read the play in different roles.
★ Eliza Doolittle
★ Professor Higgins
★ Colonel Pickering
★ Gentleman
While reading, if you have any questions , you can turn to your classmates or your teacher for help
Step 5 The Pygmalion Effect
T: The film is based on the Greek story, but there is no Pygmalion , no statue and no goddess in this film. In fact, they have the same theme- Pygmalion Effect.
  The Pygmalion Effect is that people tend to behave as you expect they will. If you expect a person to take responsibility, they probably will. If you expect them not to even try, they probably won’t.
T: As a student, what can you learn from this play?
Step 6. Homework
1. Ask Ss to write a short passage to introduce the story briefly.
2. Ask Ss to go over Act One and try to find out the language points
3. Ask Ss to finish Ex1 and Ex2 of Discovering Useful Words and Expressions on P32.
