Teaching Aims
To guide students to summarize the rules of inversion, especially partial ones To make students clear about how to write an inverted sentence correctly To polish students’ writing by using inverted sentences
To guide students to appreciate beauty around them especially the merits of
their teachers, classmates and family so as to learn to enjoy their life
Teaching Important Points
The grammatical rules of inversion. How to use inversion correctly and properly.
Teaching Difficult Points
How to guide students to conclude the grammatical rules before showing
them the summary of inversion.
How to guide students to beautify their articles by using inversion properly.
Analysis of the students
Students in Senior Three have learned inversion before, but many of them fail to use inversion to beautify their articles which is the most useful function of inversion. Even worse, some of them get confused of the grammatical rules and make various mistakes when they come across inversion.
More importantly, since these students must have suffered from a variety of difficulties in the past fifteen weeks and may get a little bit tired of the current school life, it is high time that they should be reminded of the positive things around them so as to ignore those negative matters. Meanwhile, with the Thanksgiving approaching, providing a chance to discover beauty around the students will be a nice way to guide them to appreciate their life.
Therefore, I would like to combine the revision of inversion with the purpose of
guiding students to discover beauty around them and learn to enjoy life.
Teaching Procedures
Step 1. Lead-in (Good qualities of our teachers)
Making use of a famous saying about beauty, guide students to realize and get to know beauty of their teachers with several inverted sentences.
【設計思路:從簡單的對話問候入手,發現不少學生有些消極地看待自己的生活,引入名言,我們只是缺乏善于發現美的眼睛,才不能很好地享受當下的生活。繼而簡單地引導學生去了解欣賞他們熟悉的六位任課老師,并且使用一系列的倒裝句式引起學生的注意。】
Step 2. Review how to make full and partial inversion and practice
Figure out how to make full and partial inversion according to the examples and do some exercises to get more familiar with inversion. Part of partial inversion exercises are shown as follows:
Rewrite the sentences and figure out how to make partial inversion. 1. Wang Hai is not only handsome but he also cooks well. Order: ______________ + subject
2. You will be able to solve biological problems only with the help of Mr. Wang. Order: ______________ + subject + verb. 3. Brother Hui did not go home until 11 p.m.
Order: ______________ + subject + verb. 4. Mr. Ye has seldom felt tired about his work.
Order: ______________ + subject + verb(-ed)
【設計思路:完全倒裝較為簡單,且并不是高考重點,所以以簡單的句型轉換和改錯練習總結常考知識點。部分倒裝更加重要,因而細致地進行分類的同時,結合主題,讓學生在練習并自行總結如何寫部分倒裝句的同時,挖掘同學身上的優點。此后再有一系列的改寫句子和改錯練習作為知識點的應用。】
Step 3. More exercises to consolidate (What we can learn from our classmates) Various exercises which are shown as follows to pratise using inverted sentences correctly while guiding students to discover and appreciate beauty of their classmates. 1. 只有在_____的幫助下,我才能夠解決問題。
2. 只有學習了_____的動作,你才能夠掌握打籃球/跳舞的竅門。 3.
只有到了下午六點后,______才離開課室。
4. 只有當我跟_______聊天后,我才發現他/她的善良/樂觀/幽默。 5. 只有放學下雨,______才不會在操場跑步。 1.
______ 極少對他/她的生活感到沮喪。
2. ______ 絕不會不完成作業。 3. ______ 絕不會拒絕幫助別人。
4. ______ 不僅學習好,還會彈鋼琴/拉小提琴。
5. ______ 一回到學校就馬上投入到學習中。(No sooner... than...) 6. ______ 直到十二點半才去吃午飯。
【設計思路:緊扣向同學學習的主題,把部分倒裝劃分為兩種類別,要求學生進行翻譯。學生在找尋同學的優點的同時,被引導用部分倒裝句來描述細節。請學生讀出或者寫出答案的同時,不僅能對被欣賞的同學進行表揚,還可以發現學生在使用這樣的句式時會犯下的一些語法錯誤。】
Step 4. Conclusion of grammatical rules of two types of inversion
Guide students to divde the rules of inversion into five teams as follows: (Team N, Team Only, Team也, Team方位, Team Special)

【設計思路:經過前面一系列的練習,學生將根據以上整理先自己發現思考補充倒裝句式的相關語法規則,再由老師引導補充總結。】
Step 5. Polish writing with inversion (What our parents have done for us) After pointing out the function of inversion, play a short video to remind students
of their parents’ beauty. Focus on the writing assignment and think out three inverted sentences to beautify the article according to the examples.
隨著周四感恩節的到來,李華想給他的父母親寫一封信,來表達對他們的各種辛勤勞動和無限付出的感恩之情。內容需包含: 1. 在家父母提供的各種優越條件。 2. 在校父母的密切關注,且每周日送飯。 3. 遇到困難時,父母給予的幫助和指引。 4. 讓父母放心,自己一定會盡力而為的!
注意:
幫李華寫一封100字左右的信 要求使用至少三個倒裝句子
【設計思路:之前已經談及老師和同學,當然少不了父母。在快速總結了倒裝句式的作用后,迅速分享學生在不久前的成年禮中與父母的各種合照,以喚起他們對父母感激的情緒和相關的一些記憶。緊接著亮出寫作任務,讓學生思考討論,如何在這樣的文章中恰當使用三個倒裝句,并寫下自己的亮點句子。最后再邀請幾位同學讀出倒裝句子,一起分享一起學習。】 Step 6. Homework
Accomplish the writing assignment in 25 minutes.
Exchange articles and figure out the mistakes before handing in.
【設計思路:課堂上通過思考和分享已解決了最難的三個倒裝句式,學生就可以趁熱打鐵把作文寫完。寫完后,通過互換作文,相互批改相互學習來鞏固倒裝句式,同時也訓練了高考的兩個題型:短文改錯和書面表達。】
