教材分析
本模塊以身勢語為話題，向學生介紹一些國家人們常用的身勢語，著重介紹了在不同國家初次見面和表達問候的身勢語，目的是通過這些使學生了解不同文化，增強國際意識，尊重他國文化，同時也使學生明白包括身勢語在內的語言在國際交流中的重要性，這也是英語課程標準中所闡述的教學目標之一。本模塊分設三個課時進行學習，本節課是這個模塊中的第一課時，是一節聽說課型的新授課。作為模塊的第一課，它為第二、三單元不僅提供了話題和語境，同時也為學生們后來的學習掃清語言和文化的障礙。在第一單元中，學生的聽說活動都是以初次見面和表達問候的身勢語為題材。本單元中的內容與學生們的實際生活息息相關，玲玲所在學校即將迎來一批俄羅斯來訪教師，玲玲和貝蒂以此展開對話，討論了俄羅斯人、美國人、印度人及新西蘭毛利人不同的身勢語。身勢語激發了學生的學習興趣，充分體現了“用語言做事情”。
教學目標（知識、技能、策略、情感、文化）
1．語言知識目標
(1) 學會詞匯： shake,shake hands,smile,what,head,each,each other,touch,nose
(2) 理解詞匯： bow,kiss,visitor,nod,hug,Maori,together
(3) 復習詞匯： British,German,Japanese,Russian,Russia
2．技能目標
(1) 聽：能聽懂對身勢語的描述。能通過不同目的的聽，迅速提取有用信息。
(2) 說：能聽懂，讀懂，理解和復述整個對話。
3．學習策略目標
（1）體會、關注不同國家的文化在身勢語上體現的差異；
（2）通過小組合作的方式，注意從他人的演示中汲取知識；
4．情感與態度目標
在教學過程中，學生們通過實踐、參與有意義的各種形式的活動，體驗與他人合作，共同完成學習任務的樂趣。在本課中，通過對不同國家身勢語的學習，了解不同風俗，提高對英語的學習興趣。。
5．教學重點和難點
學會理解和描述在幾個不同國家初次見面和表達問候時的身勢語。

課件、點讀筆等。
教學過程與方法
核心環節1 感知與領會
活動1 師生問好，由教師演示，引出課題。
T: When I say “hello” , I wave to you.
When I say “Nice to meet you” ,I shake hands with you.
As I say, as I use my gestures.
These gestures are called body language.
So today let’s learn Module 11Body Language.
[設計意圖]通過教師的演示，吸引學生的注意，激發學生學習的欲望。
活動2教師展示習大大與彭媽媽對新西蘭毛利人訪問時的碰鼻禮圖片，感官上調動與理解第一單元Unit One They touch noses.
T: I show the pictures to you. Our Chairman Xi and his wife Mrs. Peng visited Maori people in New Zealand. Look at them. What are they doing?
S: They are touching noses.
T: what is the title of the unit 1?
S: They touch noses.
T: Who can act it out?
S: ……
[設計意圖]通過一系列圖片的展示，從感官上理解課題，并充分調動學生學習的興趣。
核心環節2 呈現與體驗
活動3.教師利用本人在泰國參觀時的圖片及肢體語言和師生問答，，教授新單詞bow, kiss, shake hands, smile ,nod our heads, hug each other.
T: Can you guess where I am?
S: ……
T: Yes, I’m in Thailand. When they greet each other, they put their hands together and nod their heads. They say “薩瓦迪卡“.
T: Do you know some body language about foreign countries? Give us examples.
S: ……
T: What do we Chinese usually do when we greet each other?
S: ……
T : If we haven’t seen each other for a long time, what shall we do?
S: ……
T: Act in groups. Some students do actions, some students describe them.
[設計意圖]通過教師的自我展示與學生的互動，調動學生感官，學習核心詞匯，激活已有詞匯，初步感知語言現象，并在小組活動中，練習使用詞匯，為下一步學習鋪墊。
活動4. 運用點讀筆聽對話，完成書上的活動2。
T: Listen and match the pictures with the nationality.
S: ……

[設計意圖] 借助點讀筆，在新的語境下，鞏固所學詞匯，初步感知不同國家的身勢語。
活動5. 使用點讀筆聽玲玲和貝蒂之間的對話，回答問題。 指導學生，合上書，拿出記錄本，記錄核心信息。
第一遍聽，回答教師的問題。
T: What are Lingling and Betty talking about?
S: ……
T: Let’s listen again and answer another two questions.
T: 1. What’s Lingling going to do?
2. Do the Russian and American people greet each other in the same way ?
S1: She’s going to welcome some Russian teachers.
S2: No, they don’t. Russians usually kiss three times, left, right, left. Americans shake hands, and some kiss or hug each other.
T: This time, let’s listen to the dialogue and finish the form on Page 67.
