教案背景以及教學內容分析
第一,體裁:它是一篇新聞報道,所以指導學生了解該類文章的特點并掌握其閱讀策略就顯得相當重要。
第二,內容:它報道的是一個男孩神秘失蹤的事件,其失蹤原因可能與外星人有關,因此在教學中讓學生了解這些人類未知的事情并展開討論和活動會激發(fā)學生的想象力和探索精神。
第三,結構:文章段落清晰,具有新聞報道典型的寫作順序和特點,所以在教學過程中應引導學生體會并借鑒這種典型結構,為學生將來的寫作打下基礎。
學生分析
這堂課的教學對象是高一年級學生,英語基本功不夠扎實,而且對英語學習的興趣不是很濃,因此調動學生的學習興趣,并引導學生掌握一些閱讀策略是課堂的關鍵。另外,他們雖然已經掌握了一定的詞匯量,但是還不是很多,所以有的單詞對他們來說還是生詞,這需要我們去掃清詞匯障礙,但同時又要著重培養(yǎng)學生的理解能力和用英語描述行動的能力。

Step 2 Reading

Q: (1) What information can you get from the title?
(2) What other information do you want to get from the story?
3. Read the first paragraph and learn what information they can get from it.The 1st paragraph gives the main topic and most important facts.
4. Read the rest part of the story to get the detailed information.
Step 3 Consolidation
1. Ask the students to read a table and fill in the blanks. 2. Competition
Give the students 9 statements and ask them to decide whether they are true or false.
WH-questions are important when we’re reading a news story. They can help us understand the story better.
Step 4 Discussion
Divide the whole class into several groups. Help students to arouse the students’ interesting of mysterious things.

Try to find more information about the UFO and aliens if you are interested in them.
