Unit 5 Inside Advertising ( Using language II)
教學內容：Using language :Keeping advertisers honest 教學目標：1. 要求學生學會分辨廣告的真假。
2. 通過對文本教材的解讀，讓學生了解杜絕虛假廣告的四種方式 。
3. 通過對文本教材的學習和分析，學生能夠復述課文當中的重點內容，培養學生的語言表達能力，提高學生對于學習英語的興趣和熱情。
教學重點和難點：1. 將文本教材當中的重點內容轉化成日常生活中常用的表達語言
2. 學生在課堂活動中體驗閱讀策略的應用：如何識別邏輯關聯符號和銜接詞或銜接句
教學輔助材料：有關虛假廣告姚明的視頻
英文歌曲:what a wonderful world 教學過程：
Step1: 首先給學生播放虛假廣告姚明的視頻，向學生提問：What information can you get from the video?請兩個同學起來回答問題。 老師對于學生的回答作出總結：Actually，every day we are flooded with so many advertisements, and many of them are dishonest. So what should we do? What measures should we take? Maybe in this class you can find the answer. 從而引出課文Keeping advertisers honest的學習。
Step2: 1.學生手上是沒有選修九這本教材的，因此我對這篇課文作了類似于七選五的挖空處理，要求學生進行選項的選擇，從而完善課文內容。請了三到四個同學起來回答，每個同學基本都能回答正確。因此向同班同學提問：How can you make the right choice in such a short time?給學生一點提示，引出學生的答案：這五個選項當中的句子都是課文每一段的關鍵句Topic Sentence.
2.接著，順著這個思路繼續引導學生思考：那這五個關鍵句有沒有什么關聯呢？學生回答：第一個關鍵句是引出文本中提到的社會問題dishonest advertisements,后四個關鍵句是針對這個社會問題的四種解決方式，分別是：The law Advertising organization Complaints organization and The Consumer 。引出文章的總體結構：這篇文章是由 problem-solution的方式構成的。
這一步驟，主要是要培養學生的閱讀技巧，快速閱讀的能力，在第一遍快速閱讀中，要求學生獲得文章的結構構成認知，懂得抓住文章的關鍵句和銜接詞來完成閱讀任務。 Step3: 第一遍快速閱讀結束之后，接下來進入細讀部分。針對文章的五個部分，各提出了一個問題，以便學生對于文章的深入理解。這五個問題分別是：
1. Advertisers go to a lot of trouble and expense to make adverts and so they want to make sure they achieve their purpose. What does their purpose refer to? 2. Which sentence in the passage can be replaced by the following one?
In most places exist laws which stop advertisers telling lies or prevent unethical advertising that would do harm to the public.
3. What are the functions of advertising organizations?
4. Find the sentence in the passage with the following meaning.
消費者可以向這個機構投訴，提出投訴的理由。如果投訴是正確的，該機構可以責令該公司停止使用這種令人不愉快的廣告。 5.It can be inferred from Paragraph 5 that____ .
A. we should blame the consumers themselves if they are cheated by dishonest advertisers
B. consumers should be responsible to protect their rights and interests
C. schools should educate students about the skills used in the advertisements
D. consumers should turn a blind eye to the techniques used by the advertisements在第二遍細讀過程中，通過各種提問問題的方式，來達到學生尋找細節能力的目標，加深學生對于課文細節的理解，從而提高學生的閱讀能力。
Step4: 有了快速閱讀和細讀的基礎，學生對于文章的內容有了深刻和清晰的理解。這時要求學生制作有關課文內容的思維導圖Mind Map,并且要根據所制作的思維導圖，對文章進行一個整體的復述。
這個課堂任務不是要求每個學生獨立制作完成，一來獨立制作任務難度太大，二來體現不了學生的團隊合作意識。因此在這部分的環節中，老師要求每個學生找好自己的合作伙伴，通過合作的方式共同完成思維導圖以及復述課文的任務，讓每個學生在團隊之中找到自己的位置，發揮自己的力量。
接著請幾個團隊上來展示自己所制作的思維導圖，并根據自己的思維導圖來復述文章的內容。這個活動任務，是要培養學生合作的意識，提高學生團隊合作的精神，同時，提高了每個團隊成員的口語表達能力。
Step5: 基于對于課文內容的學習，有如此多的方式可以制止社會當中的虛假廣告，讓學生想象一下：What are the benefits that the honest advertising brings to both business companies and consumers?從而引出最后一個活動任務：Make a dialogue with your group members to talk about the benefits of the honest advertising.要求學生以對話的方式來呈現真實廣告給社會以及給社會當中大各個角色包括企業，公司和消費者在內的一系列的好處和優勢。這個活動能夠激發學生更加積極思考貼近社會現實的能力，激發學生的口語表達的欲望，能夠培養學生明辨是非的能力。
給學生一定時間準備之后，邀請三到四組同學上來展示他們的對話。 學生表演完畢之后，老師作出總結：
Hope one day we can make our imagination come true.
We can live in a world full of honesty and purity.
希望有一天我們的夢想能夠成真。我們可以生活在一個充滿著真誠與
純凈的世界。從而達到了升華主體的目的。
最后，在英文歌曲：What a wonderful world的歌聲中結束。
