The Monarch’s journey 教學設計
【教學目標】
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the class, we will be able to

Grasp the main idea and analyze the structure of the text by reading the passage

Summarize the information on the monarch’s journey by using the outline（綱要）.

Raise our awareness of protecting our animal friends andlearn to live in harmony with them by learning how human activities affect them.
【教學方法】本節課采用任務型語言教學方法，以應用為目的，以應用為動力，以應用為核心，旨在通過課文的學習，最終能夠恰當運用相關詞匯，文章內容進行概括。全文把任務的完成分成幾個部分準備，而不是一次性放在整堂課的最后，這樣設計的目的是降低難度，意在讓所有的同學都能夠參與課堂，可以選擇適應自己能力的積極參與。對于難度有點大的，可以尋求小組成員的幫助。
通過采用閱讀與口語表達相結合的教學策略，側重于提高學生用英語獲取信息、處理信息、分析信息和解決問題的能力。通過開展個人活動和小組活動，將合作、探究與獨立思考結合起來，增強學習英語的信心，敢于用英語表達自己的觀點，培養良好的團隊精神。【學生分析】本節課的授課對象為高一學生。雖然高一學生的詞匯量和語言運用能力有限，學生們對科普類文章的接觸也不是很多，可是學生的思維和對文本的理解能力還是比較客觀的。對高一學生來說，傳統的課本知識學習和簡單的語言知識學習已經不能調動他們的思維能力了，而科普說明文閱讀卻可以讓學生運用自己的思維能力，培養自己的閱讀能力。故而在本次教學設計中，教師在進行教學設計時，注意調動學生的積極性，讓學生來分析和討論文本。
【教學過程】

【設計說明】通過本環節想讓學生在讀文本之前對黑脈金斑蝶及其遷徙有一定的了解，通過背景的介紹激發學生讀的欲望。

【設計說明】這個環節是鍛煉學生的 read quickly for detailed information 的能力，學生根本不具備在課文的開始 read quickly for structure 的能力，而且本片文章是說明文題材，所以我設計相對難度低一點的任務，讓學生不至于在課堂的開始就沒有信心。
