1教學目標
To enable students to talk about the environmental problems in Shenzhen and the ways to protect our city
To let students know how to make an outlining and write accordingly
To cultivate students' awareness of environmental protection
2學情分析
對于保護環境這一題材,非常貼近學生的實際生活。生活中環境污染的事例隨處可見,學生對于生活中人們如何破壞環境以及如何有針對性地減少環境破壞和污染有話可說,這將有利于學生真情實感的表達和學習活動的開展。
在語言知識方面,學生通過語法學習能較為熟練地使用There be句型來描述我們身邊的環境問題,并且用情態動詞must和mustn’t等討論為了保護家園,我們應該做什么和不應該做什么。
在學習能力方面,初一年級學生在小學英語的基礎上,已具備一定的書面表達能力。但由于學生的語言基礎不扎實,寫作經驗和技巧的欠缺,限時寫作還是有一定的困難。
3重點難點
Teaching key points:

to guide students to express ideas using proper sentence structures
to make students know how to plan their writing

to make students know how to make an outlining before writing and how to write according to the writing criteria

4.1 第五學時
4.1.1教學活動
活動1【導入】Step 1 Lead-in
Students read the text on page 31 and answer the following three questions:
Q1: What things are there on Earth?
Q2: What problems are there on Earth?
Q3: What can we do for the Earth?
活動2【講授】Step 2 Writing task
Present two pictures of Shenzhen (one is beautiful and the other is being polluted), and elicit the writing task: make a poster to talk about the environmental problems in Shenzhen and find out ways to protect our city.
活動3【活動】Step 3 Pre-writing
Activity 1: Talk about our city (group work)
Show two pictures of Shenzhen and ask students to talk about our city accordingly. After students’ description, the teacher presents the words and structures that may be used in the introduction to Shenzhen.
Activity 2: What pollution is there in Shenzhen (individual work)
Students brainstorm the pollution Shenzhen faces. The teacher guides students to talk about air pollution, water pollution, land pollution, and noise pollution, etc., and makes students think about the cause and effect of the pollution. During students’ discussion, the teacher presents the key words and structures such as air pollution, water pollution, land pollution, noise pollution, People….This pollutes….
Activity 3: How to protect our city (group work)
Show four sets of pictures. For each set, one picture is about pollution and the other is about protection. Guide students to use the sentence structures We must…, we mustn’t… to talk about how to protect our city. After students’ discussion, the teacher presents the useful phrases on how to protect our city, such as take a bus, keep quiet, put rubbish into dustbins, keep rivers and seas clean.
活動4【活動】Step 4 While-writing
Present the writing task again and make a draft as follows on how to write the poster.
Before students write, the teacher reminds them to pay attention to the writing criteria such as handwriting, spelling, punctuation and grammar, etc.
While students write, the teacher presents the useful words and expressions for students to refer to.
活動5【活動】Step 5 Post-writing
Activity 1: Students exchange their works with their partners and help each other to check out the mistakes according to the outlining and the writing criteria.
Activity 2: The teacher picks out two or three of the students’ works and share with the whole class.
活動6【作業】Step 6 Homework
Improve the poster according to the outlining and the writing criteria. Draw some pictures to complete the poster.
