一、教學目標 （一）語言知識目標 
1．通過閱讀提高學生們的閱讀能力。 2．閱讀短文，能按要求找到相應的信息。 （二）情感態(tài)度和價值觀 
人的一生并不都是一帆風順的，難免有一些挫折或困難，如果生活中發(fā)生了一些不盡如人意的問題，我們要學會冷靜對待，學會合理的辦法理性地解決。 二、教學重難點 （一）教學重點 
閱讀短文，獲得相關的信息。通過閱讀練習，來提高閱讀能力。 二）教學難點 
運用所學的語言知識來寫一封簡短的信，表達自己對學生上課外輔導班這一社會現(xiàn)象的看法。  三、教學過程 Step 1 Warming-up  Sing an English song together. Step 2 Lead in 
1. Tell Ss to finish task1. Find the main idea of the text. 2. Do a survey. Step 3 Reading 1. Pre-reading Finish 2a.  
2. While-reading 
① Ss find the general idea of 2b. 
② Match the main idea with each paragraph. ③ Read paragraph 1 carefully and finish the chart. ④ Read paragraph 1 again and answer questions.   What’s the purpose of students learning exam skills?   What are other students doing? 
⑤Read paragraph 2 carefully and finish the chart. ⑥Read paragraph 2 again and answer questions. 
 What after-school activities do Taylor’s students do?  When do they get home? 
⑦Read paragraph 3 carefully and finish the chart and translation. ⑧Read paragraph 4 carefully and finish the chart. ⑨Read paragraph 4 again and answer questions. 
 What does Dr. Alice Green say about the children under pressure?  Do you agree Dr. Alice? Which sentence do you like best?
