促進(jìn)語言綜合運(yùn)用技能,提高英語思維和表達(dá)能力 貫徹“教中學(xué),學(xué)中用”策略,真正使學(xué)生學(xué)以致用
教學(xué)目標(biāo):
1) 語言知識(knowledge): a.語音(phonology):能基本讀出文章中的生詞
b.詞匯(vocabulary):能理解、內(nèi)化、運(yùn)用以下單詞及
短語functions; calculate, simplify, analytical, solve some mathematical problems, technological revolution artificial intelligence, applications.
c. Ss will be able to learn about the development of the
computers in terms of time, identity and function.
2) 語言技能(skills): a. 讀:通過快速閱讀及細(xì)節(jié)閱讀獲得相關(guān)信息且進(jìn)行
skimming, scanning, further understanding等閱讀微技能訓(xùn)練
b. 說:通過鼓勵學(xué)生自己創(chuàng)造新型電腦進(jìn)行口頭表達(dá) c. 寫:能在課后對口頭表達(dá)落實(shí)到筆頭,對課堂所學(xué)內(nèi)容
有一個較好的輸出

教學(xué)重點(diǎn)和難點(diǎn):
1)Students will be able to learn about the development of the computer in terms of time, functions and identity
2)Students will be able to have a thorough understanding of the title.

教學(xué)過程:
Step1 課前準(zhǔn)備
Before the class, a short video will be played. Actually, it is a part from the Lion King. 設(shè)計(jì)意圖:為在課堂上導(dǎo)入computer的話題做準(zhǔn)備,同時(shí)為學(xué)生創(chuàng)造一個輕松的課堂氛圍。
Step2: Pre-reading
1)Ask students to talk about their opinion of the cartoon character Simba, which will
naturally lead to today’s topic---computer.
2) Students will be asked to speak about the computer’s daily functions. 設(shè)計(jì)意圖:通過對獅子王主人公辛巴的探討,自然的把從卡通人物引到本課的主題電腦;電腦是學(xué)生非常熟悉的物品,要求學(xué)生對其日常的功能進(jìn)行探討,并交代詞匯function對下面的活動進(jìn)行鋪墊。
3)Ask students to predict who I am in the passage?
設(shè)計(jì)意圖:對完成整篇閱讀后重新回到此問題進(jìn)行鋪墊。
Step3 Fasting reading
1)Ask Ss to read the passage very quickly and find out the main idea of each paragraph.
2) Emphasize the skill of finding the main idea
3)Based on the main idea of each paragraph, students will be asked to
summarize the main idea of the whole passage.
設(shè)計(jì)意圖:培養(yǎng)學(xué)生快速閱讀、分析概括的能力,養(yǎng)成整體閱讀的習(xí)慣,即首先關(guān)注語篇的內(nèi)容或結(jié)構(gòu)并理解其大意。
Step4:Careful reading
Para1: 1)Read the first paragraph carefully and find out what happened in 1642,
1822, 1936 and since the 1970s. Ss will be asked to point out the name of the computer at that time as well as its function.
2) Ss will be asked to think about why computers became smarter even if the size of it became smaller
設(shè)計(jì)意圖:學(xué)生通過對這4個時(shí)間段的查找能自然的了解計(jì)算機(jī)的發(fā)展史,搞清楚在各個時(shí)間段它的另外一個身份及功能,這也是本堂課的重點(diǎn)。在這過程中能培養(yǎng)學(xué)生scanning能力,理解并掌握單詞functions, calculate, simplify, analytical, solve some mathematical problems,technological revolution artificial intelligence Para2& Para3: 1) Read these two paragraphs carefully and answer the questions
How did these changes become possible?
What new applications have been found for me?
Big challenge: Find out three different feelings mentioned in
para2 & para3
2)Ask Ss to answer why the computer became happy.
設(shè)計(jì)意圖:學(xué)生通過此環(huán)節(jié)可以了解計(jì)算機(jī)尺寸變小但腦力變強(qiáng)的原因及電腦在當(dāng)今社會的應(yīng)用;得出第二段及第三段計(jì)算機(jī)的另外身份也是本課的重難點(diǎn)所在,為總結(jié)全文及更好的回答who am I 做準(zhǔn)備;聯(lián)系人類實(shí)際要互相合作及幫助才能生活的開心。在這過程中能培養(yǎng)學(xué)生scanning能力,理解并掌握單詞network,applications。
Step5: Summary of the passage
Ask Ss to answer the question “ who am I ” again.
設(shè)計(jì)意圖:對于這篇內(nèi)容進(jìn)行總結(jié),更好的理解計(jì)算機(jī)的多重身份,并為下一環(huán)節(jié)做鋪墊。
Step 6 Post reading:
Introduce the new kind of computer iPad created by Steve Jobs’ Apple Corporation and then ask Ss to design a new kind of computer
設(shè)計(jì)意圖: 激發(fā)學(xué)生的創(chuàng)造力和想象力,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的合作能力及口頭表達(dá)的能力
Step7:Summary and Homework
Encourage Ss to be creative again and assign the homework
設(shè)計(jì)意圖:能在課后對口頭表達(dá)落實(shí)到筆頭,有一個很好的輸出。
