[I] Teaching aims 
  At the end of the class, the students will be able to 1. know some common endangered animals. 
 2. talk about the reasons for wildlife endangerment and the ways of protecting wildlife. 
[II] Teaching important point 
  Enable the students to talk about endangered species of wildlife and give advice on how to protect them. [III] Teaching difficult point 
  How to get the specific information from the text by skimming and scanning.

  A multi-media computer [VI] Teaching procedures Step one: Warming up 
1. Get the students to talk about their favorite animals. 
T: First, I have a question for you. Do you like animals?   Ss: Yes./No. T: what animals do you like?  Ss: I like... 2. Have a guessing game about animals. 
T: Now, let’s have a guessing game about animals. Can you guess what the animal is according to the description. 3. Show about endangered animals. 
T: I have a question for you. Can you often see these animals? Why? Ss: No！ 
T: We may be see the animals on TV, but not in our daily life. And even some of them are endangered. So, before the class, I ask you to search some information about endangered animals, are you ready to share with us? Which group would like to be the first one?   
 
                    
             
                    
                            Step two: Pre-reading 
  Get the students to talk about why the animals are in danger of disappearing. 
T: Now, can we summarize why the animals are in danger? 
T: Because of too much hunting, food shortage, pollution and destruction of habitats. 
T: So, if we continue to ignore all these factors, these endangered animals may die out. They do need help. This is called wildlife protection.

T: Now, suppose you are a member of the WWF, please give your opinion on what we can do to protect the endangered animals. First, I want you to make a poster about an endangered animal, discuss their situations and give some advice. Then, give us a report. Clear?  
Step six: Show time 
   Ask the students to show their posters.  
Step seven: Summary 
   Summarize the key points about how to protect the endangered animals.  
Step eight: Homework 
Write a short passage about how to protect the wildlife.
