一、教學(xué)目標分析 1. 語言目標： 
（1）重點詞匯和短語：掌握下列重點詞匯并將其運用于表達觀點和意圖：habitat， endanger， reserve， carpet，  fur， mercy，contain，  powerful，rub， mosquito，insect， appreciate， die out，in peace,in danger (of)，  protect...from，in relief，  burst into laughter   
（2）重點句子：了解并分析句子結(jié)構(gòu)，能運用其給予的信息設(shè)置問題。 Daisy had always longed to help endangered species of wildlife. One day she woke up and found a flying carpet by her bed. In relief, Daisy burst into laughter. I'm protecting myself from mosquitoes. 2. 能力目標： 
（1）能通過閱讀形成自己的觀點。 
（2）能有效使用各種閱讀技巧找出關(guān)鍵信息、整合信息、提出問題、解決問題。 （3）能在閱讀中根據(jù)前文的信息適當?shù)膶�后文�?nèi)容作出預(yù)測。 （4）能有效地監(jiān)控自己的學(xué)習(xí)行為和學(xué)習(xí)方式。 3. 情感目標： 
（1）發(fā)展學(xué)生團結(jié)合作的學(xué)習(xí)意識。 
（2）通過閱讀，學(xué)生了解野生動物并意識到保護野生動物的重要性。 （3）熱愛動物，保護動物，從我做起。  
二、教學(xué)重點、難點分析 1、教學(xué)重點： 
通過對本文的閱讀，培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的閱讀策略，提高閱讀理解的技能，鍛煉學(xué)生整合閱讀信息的能力。 
引導(dǎo)學(xué)生在閱讀過程中尋找關(guān)鍵信息并進行有效整合       2、教學(xué)難點： 
理解文章中的長難句 
團隊合作根據(jù)文章內(nèi)容自設(shè)問題 
引導(dǎo)學(xué)生利用有效信息對下文進行預(yù)測

（3）能在閱讀中根據(jù)前文的信息寫出短文。 （4）能有效地監(jiān)控自己的學(xué)習(xí)行為和學(xué)習(xí)方式。 3. 情感目標： 
（1）發(fā)展學(xué)生團結(jié)合作的學(xué)習(xí)意識。 
（2）通過閱讀，學(xué)生了解海洋生態(tài)的多樣性并意識到保護海洋生物的重要性。 （3）熱愛海洋，保護生物，從我做起。 二、教學(xué)重點、難點分析 1、教學(xué)重點： 
通過對本文的閱讀，培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的閱讀策略，提高閱讀理解的技能，在游戲中鍛煉學(xué)生整合閱讀信息的能力。 
引導(dǎo)學(xué)生在閱讀過程中尋找關(guān)鍵信息并進行有效寫作。   2、教學(xué)難點： 
理解文章中的長難句 
團隊合作根據(jù)文章內(nèi)容你問我來猜 引導(dǎo)學(xué)生利用閱讀到的信息進行寫作 四、Teaching methods 教學(xué)方法 Reading, listening and speaking. 五、Teaching aids 教具準備 
A recorder, a projector and a computer. 六、 教學(xué)過程設(shè)計 Step1 lead in（導(dǎo)入） 
T: Did you like listening to fairy tales when you were children?  S: Yes. 
T: The story always begin like this: Once upon a time, there was a little Mermaid living under the sea. So she asked: Can you name my friends? 
設(shè)計意圖：通過童話故事中的美人魚導(dǎo)入，引起學(xué)生興趣。并且整堂課都會與美人魚的故事為線索貫穿始終。

T: Are they beautiful? Where do you think we can find them?  S:... 
T: yes, you can find them at an aquarium or at the bottom of oceans. Then how can we go down to the bottom of oceans? S: We can go snorkeling 
T: When you go snorkeling, what can you see? S: 
T: that means, you will see the beauty of the sea, you will see the danger of the sea, you will discover A New Dimension of Life  
What would it be like? Can you imagine? Let’s enjoy the writer’s experience down into the depths of the sea. 
設(shè)計意圖：將海底各類生物以美人魚朋友的身份通過視頻呈現(xiàn)給學(xué)生，大家一起大聲說出它們的英語名稱 ，自然進入本節(jié)課的主題“A New Dimension of Life .”，激發(fā)學(xué)生想要繼續(xù)學(xué)下去的興趣。 Step2 Reading 1. Fast reading 
T: Read the text fast and try to number the paragraph topics in the correct order. I will give you 3 minutes. Topic Paragraph number colors and shapes  2 dangers  4 reflecting 
 1 the reef’s edge 5 a final thought  6 some sea creatures

   設(shè)計意圖：學(xué)生快速閱讀，找出每段的關(guān)鍵詞，理清文章脈絡(luò)。 2. Detailed reading 
T: From these topics, we can infer that the writer had a special day. Now let’s have a detailed reading to get more information. Please try to find the answers of these questions. You will have 4 minutes to do it. 
1. What is the first thing he became aware of under the sea? 2.What did the shapes of corals look like? 3. What other creatures did he find? 
4.Were there anything that made him feel frightened? What were they? (4 mins later) 
T：So what is the first thing he became aware of under the sea? S: vivid colors         T: what are these colors? 
S: purples, reds, oranges, yellows, blues, greens. 
T: what about the corals? What did the shapes of corals look like? 
S: The corals were fantastic. They were shaped like fans, plates, brains, lace, mushrooms, lettuces, and the branches of trees and the horns of deer. T: Besides corals, what other creatures did he find? Let’s go to para.3S: Sea anemone, Sea-slug, Parrotfish, Anemone fish, Sea-star, Turtle, Angelfish 
設(shè)計意圖：學(xué)生在仔細閱讀后找出文中四個問題的答案，對文章的細節(jié)信息掌握得更好后，為后面游戲時學(xué)生對于文章的信息輸出做好準備。  
Step 3 Guessing game  
T: Now let’s play a guessing game. I’d like four students to come here and the other students should try to describe it by using the words from the text. Please guess the names of the following creatures(每個小組選一位同學(xué)上臺背對屏幕，其他同學(xué)根據(jù)屏幕中呈現(xiàn)的海洋生物，用文中的話進行描述。上面的同學(xué)競猜。） Picture1 anemone fish, little orange and white 
Picture2 parrotfish yellow and green ,hard bird-like mouth Picture3 a yellow-spotted red sea-slug  Picture4 sea star, star-shaped 
Picture5 an orange and blue-striped angelfish   Picture6 a large wise-looking turtle  
T: so it is very interesting under the sea, but were there anything that made him feel frightened? What were they?  
S: Yes，there were. He didn’t want to get close to the eel, the giant clam and the grey reef shark made him scared to death.  
T: Therefore, there are dangers as well as delights under the sea. Discuss and list the delights and dangers when snorkeling. 
設(shè)計意圖：這次的你說我猜游戲，意在考察學(xué)生讀懂文章之后用文中的關(guān)鍵詞句進行輸出運用。為下文的寫作做好準備。 Step 4 Writing 
T: Just now we know there are dangers as well as delights under the sea, and have you ever had the feelings like this? 
1.充滿魔力的一天a day of pure magic  2.奇特的美景extraordinary beauty 
3.這是我所做的最奇妙的事It was the most fantastic thing I have ever done. 4.心跳得厲害My heart was beating wildly. 
5.全身的細胞都被喚醒了Every cell in my body woke up. 6.我覺得嚇得要命I felt scared to death. 
7.猶如發(fā)現(xiàn)了生活中嶄新的一面It was like discovering a whole new dimension of life． 
設(shè)計意圖：這些描述作者感受的useful expressions, 讓學(xué)生有所理解并運用于作文中。 
T: Suppose you were the mermaid. It's the first time you have been to the zoo. Write a short passage about your feelings on the paper by using the beautiful words and expressions. You will have 8 minutes to do it. Sample answer:

Today, I went to visit a zoo I had never been to. It was the most fantastic thing I have ever done. It is so different from my habitat that it seems like a place of pure magic. Seeing such extrordinary beauty, I think every cell in my body woke up. It was

   I enjoyed myself very much in the zoo. The first thing I became aware of was all the lovely birds and animals, such as the eagle, the elephant and the monkey. Besides, I watched a horror film named Jurassic. Park. My heart beat wildly when seeing the dinosaurs attacking people who wanted to steal them.    What a wonderful ,limitless world it was!  
設(shè)計意圖：讓學(xué)生以美人魚的身份結(jié)合今天所學(xué)寫一篇日記，文中主要運用一些描述自己感受的詞語。通過前文這些信息的反復(fù)輸入，八分鐘時間的輸出訓(xùn)練也能夠順理成章。最后通過播放美人魚錄音的方式給出范例，讓學(xué)生身臨其境。 
 T : Experience more and parctise more, you will find a new dimension of life.  
Step5  Homework 
Suppose you visited GanZhou Central Park today. Write a diary about your experience by using the beautiful words and expressions.  
設(shè)計意圖： 以學(xué)生熟悉的中央公園作為寫作素材，加之這節(jié)課的學(xué)習(xí)，學(xué)生更覺有話可說。
