A. Particular topic: Share love by sending gifts and participate in voluntary work.

B. Vocabulary: 
a. Recycling words: donate, anniversary, pump, operate  復(fù)現(xiàn)詞匯 
b. New words & phrase: catalogue, voluntary, purchase, seed, vaccination, sew, ox, tractor, plough, tailor, 
distribution, political, security; in need 新詞匯 
2) Skills: prediction, skimming, scanning, guessing, realizing, careful reading

2. Educational objectives:  教育目標(biāo) 
1) Affect: Know about famous philanthropists and their great work. Get information from a website aimed 
at giving gifts and improve understanding of needy people. 
效果：了解國(guó)內(nèi)外偉大的慈善家；了解一個(gè)給貧困地區(qū)孩子送禮物的網(wǎng)站并為他們挑選禮物；了解自閉癥兒童并關(guān)愛(ài)他們。

Teaching Content: 教學(xué)內(nèi)容 I. Introduction & Warming-up  
Lead students to the topic by showing the latest news about donation and displaying some famous philanthropists abroad and at home. Arouse students’ thinking about “What can we help others in our daily life?” and “What if we want to help those who live in other countries?” 
導(dǎo)入：伴隨歌曲《We’re the world》進(jìn)入課堂，介紹國(guó)內(nèi)外知名慈善家的行為事跡，引發(fā)學(xué)生對(duì)于奉獻(xiàn)愛(ài)心的思考。

Introduce an international website about sending gifts to people in need. Focus on the gift catalogue and share opinions on which gifts shall be sent to particular objects. 課內(nèi)閱讀：為貧困地區(qū)兒童送禮物的網(wǎng)站 III. Reading for passage II 
        Read an article about children with autism from the 21 century Teens. Get general information and arouse students’ awareness of autism and care for them. 擴(kuò)展閱讀：關(guān)愛(ài)自閉癥兒童（21世紀(jì)英文報(bào)）  IV. Homework  
Search information on the Internet about autistic children and care for them. 作 業(yè)：上網(wǎng)查找關(guān)于自閉癥兒童的信息并盡可能給予幫助

1. Warming-up 
T: Good afternoon, class 6.  S: Good afternoon, Zoe. 
T: Well, it’s nice to see you here. Just now, upon entering the classroom, you’ve heard a familiar song. What song is it? Yes! It’s we’re are world. Even though it’s an old song in 1980s, it is still well-known to every household. But do you know the background of it? Actually it’s related to today’s lesson. Now, let’s focus 
 
                    
             
                    
                            on some of the latest news. First of all, do you know who he is? Yes, it’s Tim Cook, the Chief Executive Officer of Apple. What is he doing in China? Is he doing business? No, he’s doing charity. Well, there are many famous business man like Cook, who are also honorable and influential philanthropists. For example, Bill Gates. He and his wife established their foundation in 2008 and donated $58 billion to philanthropic foundation. Amazing, right? Moreover, Zuckerberg, who was entitled “the second Gates”, started the foundation at the birth of their first child, basically on education and medical service, in hope of promoting human potential and equality. Additionally, the respected philanthropist Buffet, is famous for his power lunch. Do you want to have lunch with him? If you do, you need to pay for it by donating money to a foundation to help the poor and homeless in San Francisco. These distinguished philanthropists are all Americans. How about Chinese? Actually there are great philanthropists in our country, such as Ma Yun. What is he famous for? Alibaba? Yes, it’s true. Taobao? Definitely. But they are only a part of his career. He’s also an honored philanthropist, such as the ant forest. Have you played it on Alipay before? It’s an action aimed at reducing carbon emission. By using Alipay, you can help build a forest in real life, like picture1. Can you imagine what the desert becomes now? Look at picture 2. So a small action can make a difference. After talking about these influential enterprisers, let me show you another one. Who are they?  T: Yes, it’s TF boys. Are any one of you their fans? Who do you like the best? Actually, they’re not merely young idols for singing, but also pioneers in good work. Why do I say so? Look at the news. They’ve ranked number one in China charity celebrity list in 2017. Each of them has established their own foundations. Can you guess which foundation belong to Wang Yuan?  
T: So why so are so many philanthropists devoting to charity work? Because there are many needy people on the earth needing us. How can we help them?   
2. Reading for passage 1 
2.1 Fast reading  快速閱讀，掌握結(jié)構(gòu) 
T: Open the textbook and turn to page 34. Look at the page, and answer the questions. Where is the page from? How many parts is the page divided into? What are they? Are all the gifts cost the same? In what order are they listed?   
2.2 Scanning and guessing  猜測(cè)、略讀，了解重要信息 
T: Excellent! Now please look at the gift catalogue. Do they cost the same? No, they are listed from the cheapest to the dearest. Group 1 and 2 are responsible for gift A to gift J; Group 3 and 4 are from gift K to U. You are required to go through each gift, figure out what they mean, and match the pictures with relevant gifts.  
2.3 Speaking  小組討論，發(fā)表見(jiàn)解 
T: Now, suppose we can send the gifts to someone in need. Look at the description of each person, choose a gift and give your reasons.

3. Reading for passage 2 
3.1 Lead-in 關(guān)注標(biāo)題和圖文并引發(fā)思考 
T: Look at the headline, everyone. What can you learn from it? What activity does seniors join in? It’s at a center for children with autism, like Tian tian.  3.2 General reading 總體閱讀感知文章主旨 
T: Read and answer the question — How to help people with autism according to the article? 
S: What we need to do is crouch down, stare into their eyes and repeat their name with a warm smile, which requires respect, softness and patience. 3.3 Skimming 跳讀獲取具體信息 
T: Now, please read the article again and think about: how does Luo Zhenqi treat children with autism? What has he learned from the experience? 
S: In his eyes, they are lovely, enthusiastic and easy to get along with. 
The volunteer experience made Luo understand autistic children better, enhanced his sense of responsibility, and even changed his attitude toward life.  3.4 Homework 遷移 
T: It’s worthwhile to show our concern for children with autism. So here comes the homework. Search the information about autistic children on the Internet and care for them.  4. Reflection 反思 
T: So much about talking, so do we Chinese also have the spirit of giving and sharing? Definitely. As an old saying: “予人玫瑰，手留余香”. How do you translate it into English?  
T: Hope all of us can give a hand to people in need to build a more harmonious and beautiful world. Thank you for you corporation.
