Step 1 Leading in導(dǎo)入
Ask students to sing together a song named If I Were A Boy by a female, an American singer Beyonce. Later, inspire students to think about why I were is used here instead of I was. Students will come to the answer subjunctive mood is used here because the singer is a girl not a boy.

Show students a clip from the movie Big words of western tour to make students loosely understand the relationship between Zixia and Zhi Zunbao. 給學(xué)生放一段周星馳主演的電影《大話西游》的片斷,讓學(xué)生大概了解男女主角至尊寶和紫霞之間的故事。這是一個(gè)充滿遺憾和悔恨的故事,正好應(yīng)對(duì)虛擬語氣的用法,對(duì)過去、現(xiàn)在、將來所發(fā)生事情的假設(shè)、想象和遺憾。
品臺(tái)詞悟虛擬
By presenting some famous movies lines, the teacher asks students to observe those sentences and thus conclude the features of the subjunctive mood in if-clause used in different times, past, present and future.
依次按照過去、現(xiàn)在、將來的時(shí)間,展示出電影當(dāng)中的經(jīng)典臺(tái)詞,以電影臺(tái)詞為依據(jù),通過設(shè)計(jì)不同題型的練習(xí)讓學(xué)生再次鞏固對(duì)if條件從句中虛

Invite students to the platform and play a competition game to check students’ command of the grammar.

Several activities are designed to make students aware of when and where should the grammar be applied.
Activity 1: Consequence Chains 句子接龍
Students are divided into two parts. Each part of the group consists of four students. Starting with the half sentences given, students are required to continue the story.
學(xué)生按座位分為兩大組。每一大組中有四個(gè)小組,四人一小組根據(jù)所給的
開頭運(yùn)用虛擬語氣完成句子接龍。每組派代表抽簽決定任務(wù)。
Task 1: If I were Miss Tang….. 如果我是唐老師…..(現(xiàn)在/將來) Task 2: If the cell phone had never been invented….. (過去)
Students are required to make up a story by using the subjunctive mood in if clause.
Activity 2: If I were you…/If I had done… 幫助老師回微信(句子運(yùn)用)
Share with students two messages sent from other students in trouble who are looking for help. Ask students to help think out ways to help them and give them suggestions.
分享來自兩位處于麻煩中的學(xué)生的信息,讓學(xué)生運(yùn)用if虛擬語氣回復(fù)微信,解決問題。
Activity 3: Story telling分享故事(句子成章)
Ask students to share their stories about their regrets and wishes by giving them a passage pattern with the usage of subjunctive mood in if clause. After several minutes’ preparation, one or more students are invited to share their stories.
教師分享在與學(xué)生的交流過程中遺憾的事情,并表達(dá)未來的希望。要求學(xué)生按老師所給模版寫出他們生活中遺憾的或是后悔的事,再表達(dá)愿望。 Step 4: Reflection反思
Present a video to sparkle students’ learning of subjunctive mood in if-clause. “ Life is filled with ifs, but there is no subjunctive mood” Ask students to study hard and seize their time.
播放視頻,讓學(xué)生從視頻中得到啟發(fā)“人生充滿很多的如果,但是人生沒有虛擬語氣。要活在當(dāng)下,珍惜現(xiàn)在,不給一年后的自己留下遺憾。 Step 5: Homework家庭作業(yè)
Students are asked to polish their writing of their regrets and their wish by using subjunctive mood in if clause.
