know the value of cultural relics from the text to increase your cultural awareness.
describe the procedure of how to solve a problem.
express your own ideas on the given topics by critical thinking.
Lead-in: Memory competition.
Present some cultural relics in both China and Egypt. Students can know more about the topic and meanwhile, divide them into several groups to carry out a class competition as well as feeling the team work.

Know a new reading pattern:
Problem—Solution Pattern 問題
-解決模式
*Put the four procedures in correct order.
設計目的：使學生了解問題解決型閱讀模式的基本結構，從而運用到以后類似文體的學習和練習。通過排序，小組討論，加深思考和對該理論的理解。
Discourse Analysis: para1:
What's the topic sentence of para. 1? What's the function of the first paragraph?
para2:
1.Why did the Egyptian government want to build a new dam?
2.Did people support the proposal? Why?
3. What did the government do to deal with the problem?
para 3:
What's the topic sentence ?
How did the committe help solve the problem?

How were the temples and other cultural sites saved?

2. In what way does the completion of the project inspire you?
設計目的：通過語篇分析，找到主題句和支撐細節，并且總結出每一段所對應的問題解決步驟，把理論運用到具體的文本閱讀中。通過一些問題的思考，加深對文本的理解。小組討論，團隊合作讓每個人都積極參與。
Group work: finish the fishbone and then retell the passage:
設計目的：通過魚骨圖的設計，上面串起時間的數字，下面串起來其他數字。學生可以通過時間軸來梳理各個事件發生的順序，從而達到復述文本的目的。同時，一些國家數量和花費金錢的數額更引出下面的批判性思考，這樣的

”是否值得。從而引起學生對文物保護的重視。

Watch a video about COVID-19, and share your feelings.
設計目的：通過視頻里面出現的世衛組織專家演說，提到的一百多個國家傾力合作，以及沒有一個國家能獨善其身，讓學生加深合作意識的重要性。
