一、教學目標：
1. 語言知識目標：
1) 學習掌握下列詞匯： policeman, noise, wolf, happening, uneasy 2）閱讀短文，能按要求獲取相關的信息。 3）通過閱讀訓練來提高學生們的閱讀能力。 4) 學習運用情態動詞表推測。 2. 情感態度價值觀目標：
面對身邊暫時不可解釋的現象，根據已有證據進行合理推測。不信謠，不傳謠。
二、重難點：
1. 重點：1) 掌握本部分出現的生詞和詞組，達到熟練運用的目標。
2) 閱讀短文，獲得相關的信息。通過閱讀練習，來提高閱讀能力。
2. 難點：1) 閱讀短文，獲得相關的信息的能力。
2) 理解并運用所學的詞匯及表達方式。
三、教學方法
任務型閱讀及情景交際法 四、教學準備：
準備本課所需要的圖片及多媒體課件 五：教學過程： Step1：Review.
通過游戲猜測柯南來進入偵探第一環節，知識的鞏固。通過圖片展示讓學生復習情態動詞，must, can’t, might/could/may的推測。 Step2：Lead-in.
通過偵探第二環節，聲音的推測，來引入今天課文的話題。告知學生“Now an unusual thing is happening in a small town. Please help me to find out the truth.” Step3：Guessing
通過課文的圖片，讓學生猜測如下兩個問題：1）What can you see in the picture? 2）how does she feel? 用這種方法訓激起學生探索問題的興趣。 Step4：Before-reading
通過快速閱讀文章，回答下面兩個問題來了解文章的主要核心內容：1) Which one might be the best title? 2) Where might be the article from? Step5：while-reading
1) Read the paragraph 1 together and tell True or False, and then correct it.
2）Next, Please read paragraph 2 together and fill in the blanks. 3) 根據第一段和第二段的內容，完成3c
4）listen to the paragraph 3 carefully and answer these questions on PPT. 5）After reading the passage, play a game. 完成3b Step6：after-reading
After reading the passage, we still don’t know who the noise-maker is? Now you are the detective! Try to find out the truth.讓學生當偵探進行文章復述。（通過對每段的中心思想的復述，讓學生了解Un unusual thing寫作的主要框架結構，為后期課堂外的延伸做好準備。） Step7：Group-work
通過對文章的梳理，讓學生說出作者的觀點“Who is the noise-maker?”，引出讓學生自己談談自己的觀點。Now, there are two choices for students. 1）Make a record.
2）Make an interview and role play. Step8：升華
對身邊暫時不可解釋的現象，根據已有證據進行合理推測。做到“Calm down!
Believe in science! Find out the truth!”
Step9：Homework
Write a composition named “an unusual thing” .通過寫作的形式，將課堂內容延伸至課堂之外，進行知識鞏固和擴充。
