一、 The analysis of the teaching material：
It’s the first period of uni7 in Go For It, Grade 9. The topic of this unit is about rules. The main grammar is passive voice. This class is the reading part of this unit. We’ll learn how to read, and prepare for the further learning.
二、Teaching aims：
1. Aims on knowledge and ability：
1) Students will be able to grasp the main words
And grasp the main sentence structure：should be allowed to do 2) Students will be able to talk about rules
2.Aims on process and methods：
1）Students can practice the main structure and grammar, and can talk with classmates after learning to develop students’ ability of speaking.
2）After learning in groups, students can make self-assessment to improve themselves.
3. Aims on attitude and value：
By learning the passage : mom knows best, let students know mother’s love.
三、Teaching key and difficult points 1. Teaching key points：
1) Students should grasp the main words , phrases and sentence structures. Students should also grasp the grammar: passive voice. 2) learn to ask and answer about the rules.
2. Teaching difficult points：
Students should grasp how to talk about the rules and learn to obey them.
四、Teaching procedures
Step 1.Group work
Learn the phrase of rules, and learn some new phrases. Then use the main structure to talk about rules.
Step 2. Lead in. Read a passage then answer: How do you feel after you argue with your parents? Sad? Unhappy? Regretful？ Step 3. Presentation--Reading Task 1: Prereading --skimming
Answer : How many periods（年齡段） did the writer mention ? Task 2.while reading
Listen to the whole poem, answer the question What does the title “Mom Knows Best” mean？ A. Mom knows I’m the best. B. Mom knows she’s the best. C. Mom knows what’s the best for me. 1. 1.make sentences according to the pictures.
