Aims
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
1. Learn and use the key words and phrases through practice.
2. Improve the skill of scanning, skimming and careful reading under the teacher’s guidance.
3. Appreciate the warmth of family after reading and feeling the passage.

2. How to motivate the students to appreciate the warmth of family. Difficulty
How to lead the students to understand and summarize the social division of labor between male and female.
Procedures
Step 1. Lead-in
Ask the question: What’s your favourite food? Then show a picture of a feast. Step 2. Reading 1. Scanning
Scan the whole passage to find out the two main characters.
2. Careful reading Passage1:
Why was the feast made?
What did Lala do for the feast? How did she feel? And why?
After answering these questions, let the students review
subjunctive mood. Then, lead to last year and explore Lala’s feeling. Passage1:
Find out more duties of men and women in the primitive society. How did Lala’s feeling change? And why? Who brought the meat home? Who cooked the meat?
How did the primitive people make use of animal skins? Passage3&4:
What was Dahu’s task?
What do you think of his task? Can you find some related words that can reflect its features?
Use at least 3 words to describe Dahu. How did Lala’s feeling change? And why? Step 3. Thinking & Discussing What made the feast possible?
What did the feast bring to the primitive people?
Step 4. Speaking
Suppose you are Dahu and your classmate is Lala. Both of you come to modern society through time machine, in order to share your daily life with us. Firstly, present it one by one. Secondly, present it together.
Step 5. Homework
Continue the story in about 150 words.
Para 1: No sooner did the feast was finished than a group of wolfs jumped out of nowhere…
Para 2: Though badly hurt, they still kept fighting…
