I Teaching aims 
Key vocabulary: 
cross,village,between…and…,bridge,river,quickly, 
go on a rope way, one 11-year-old boy,boat, afraid,like,leave,dream,come true. Target language: 
It is easy to get to school. 
But for the students in one small village in china, it is difficult.  There is a very big river between their school and village. 
Many of the students and villagers never leave the village. Can their dream come true? Ability goals 
Improve Ssreading ability . Moral goals 
Ss learn to cherish,to love,to be thankful and try to help others. Improve Ss’awareness of teamwork. 
II Teaching important and difficult points 
Enable students to understand the article by some kinds of reading skills such as scanning ,skimming.etc.It’s hard for students to distinguish the usages of like when it’s  come to different context .

Step I  Greetings and lead-in   
Let students reviewwhat they have learned last time and select lucky birds to talk about how to get to school.  Make a duty report. 
Talk about how to get to school, the distance between two places and the time it takes.  Review the topic of Section A. 
 
Step II Pre-reading 
Enjoy the video of Micro learning Resource on the website again.  
Learn the new words and get to know the meaning of them. Get the students have some preparation for today’s passage.  
Check on what students have learned before class.  
 
Do a quiz.

Step IV careful reading &scanning 
First,Let the 
students read and do the matching practice to find the main idea of the passage. To match the gist of each 
paragraph with the appropriate para. number.  
Guide the students to learn how to get 
detailed information by themselvesand encourage them to solve the problems by cooperation .. 
 
Second, Let the students read through the first paragraph. And then pick students randomly to answer three questions.  lead students to read the questions and try to solve them by themselves .  
 
Third ,let the students read the second paragraph to themselves and enjoy reading with emotion. And then discuss two questions in group. 
Let students feel the charming of English . have them discuss to solve problems in group. 
 
Finally, let the students read the last paragraph aloud together and do a fill-in exercise. 
Let students do the exercise on their own pad and cultivate their 
comprehensive ability of using language..
