                            Guanru)describe the  appearance and personality of the two classmates.    Step 2 Presentation 1.Show a video of Li Xinyu and Ding Guanru. They meet each other after five years in a bookstore.   2. Check the memories. Let the students  to complete the sentences with “used to” or “didn’t use to”.     3.Free talk  give the students one minute to work in pairs and talk about what they used to do and what they didn’t use to do.      Step 3 4a Talk about the four people in 4a,write sentences about the  past using used to.   Step4  (1) Show a two-year-old little boy’s photo. (2) Talk about what he used to be afraid of and what he is still afraid of. (3) Continue to show some pictures.   are.       
Students look at the video    
Fill in the blanks and complete the sentences.        
Pair work          Students look at the pictures and say the sentences , then write down them on the book.    
（1）Say something about the little boy with “used to be afraid of” and “be still afraid of” 
（2）Talk more  some pictures such as Liang Tianyi, big dogs, snakes, test. 生的興趣，并對
上節(jié)課的內(nèi)容進(jìn)行簡單復(fù)習(xí)     
學(xué)生自己拍的視頻，假設(shè)五年之后在圖書館相遇，她們的對話圍繞著五年前相互的外貌，性格特點(diǎn)等的變化展開，大量運(yùn)用句型“used to” 和 “didn’t use to”.  
學(xué)生繼續(xù)大量練習(xí)句型“used to” 和 “didn’t use to”.為學(xué)生完成下一個環(huán)節(jié)的4a做好鋪墊。    
順利完成4a的任務(wù)。    
由兩歲小孩曾經(jīng)害怕和依然害怕的兩件事情如：怕黑，怕孤單。自然引出本環(huán)節(jié)的句型“used to be afraid of” and “be still afraid of”并
 
                    
             
                    
                                
Step 5 Group work  
(1)Ask the students to do a survey, find out how many students in the group used to be afraid of and are still afraid of: the dark, being alone, flying, high places, giving a speech in public. (2)Give each group a topic.    
Step 6 Practice   
(1)Continue to show the pictures of the little boy with “used to...but now...” 
(2)Finish 4b. Look at the information and write sentences about Emily.    
Step 7 Writing  practice (1) Ask the students to write a letter to introduce themselves to Emily(include  
appearance, personality, hobbies,weekends 
activities and so on.  (2) Ask some of the students to show their letters to the whole class. 
(3) Make comment on the students’letters.    
     
 
(1) Work in groups. (2) Make the 
conversations. (3) The group leader write down the result on the screen and give the result to the whole class.      
Talk about the pictures. Practice the sentence structer:“used to...but now...”        
Write the letters like this: 
Dear Emily, 
My name is ...I used to be„but now I am„ 
I used to have„,now I have„I used to „ on weekends, now I„ on weekends...  
 Show some of the letters      進(jìn)行訓(xùn)練。      
學(xué)生小組合作完成調(diào)查，并大量運(yùn)用本任務(wù)中的句型結(jié)構(gòu)。         
經(jīng)過大量的練習(xí)，學(xué)生能容易的完成本部分的任務(wù)。
