① Learn the seven days of a week.
② Learn how to talk about Ss’ favorite subjects and give reasons.
③ Learn how to read a schedule and make out a useful learning
schedule to save time. Moral Aims:
① To know that knowledge is power and to love each subject. ② To develop students’ ability of cooperation and let them know the
importance of teamwork.
③ To inspire Ss’ learning interests.
3. Teaching procedures
Step 1 : Warm up & Lead-in 1. Daily Greetings 2. Let’s chant. Step 2 : Presentation 1. 7 Days of a week
① T presents seven days of a week. Teaches Ss the pronunciation
and meaning of each day.
② Ss read new words after the T, one by one, row by row, group
by group.
③ Play a matching game.
④ Do some exercises about the days. 2. Description words
① Present new words by playing a guessing game. ② Ss read the description words after T. ③ Work on 1a.
④ Discuss about their likes and dislikes and make a sentence
using “I like ... because it’s . But I don’t like ... because it’s ... . ... likes ... because it’s..., but she/ he doesn’t like ”
3. Subjects
(T: just now, you talked about your favorite subjects, so what subjects do you have now?... Let’s review together.)
① Review the subjects together with Ss.
② Play a game about subjects.
③ Talk about your favorite subject. -- What’s your favorite subject? -- My favorite subject is ... -- Why do you like ...? -- Because it’s ...

Step 3 : Practicing
1. Work on 1b. 2. Work on 1c.
① T can explain the schedule to Ss first. ② Listen and circle the classes David talks about. ③ Check the answers. 3. Let’s imitate.
① Ss read after the tape and imitate the pronunciation and intonation.
② Play a game ---Who is the best reader?
Ss can practice the conversation with their partner and then T can ask some of them to show. 4. Work on 1d (pair work) 5. Listening practice. ①Listen and fill in the chart. ②Check the answers.
③ Retell the listening material.
6. Interview and give a report.(Who is the best reporter?) Interview two of your classmates about their favorite subjects, and then give a report. Step 4 : Summary
Let Ss summarize the lesson today. Step 5 : Homework
Fill in the schedule for your classes on Tuesday and share it with our classmates after class.
