1. Ask Ss to read the passage and answer the questions. (1) Where did I go? (2) When did I go? (3) Who did I go with? (4) How did I get there? (5) What did I do and see there? (6) How did I feel about the trip?
2. Ask Ss to summarize the structure of a travel journal according to the questions. 3. Ask Ss to pick out some good words and expressions in the passage. Step 3. While writing

1. Read the passage and answer the questions.
In 2015, I traveled to Gulangyu with my husband and his best friends. I felt excited because it was the first time that I had made an independent travel. Gulangyu is a small island of Xiamen, so we had to fly to Xiamen first and took a ship there. It’s like a garden on the water. There the sky and the sea clearly meet on the horizon. We climbed to the top of the Sunshine Rock, where we could see much of the landscape of Xiamen. Cars and buses are not allowed to run there, which makes the island quiet and peaceful. We walked down the street and enjoyed the relaxing life. It’s such a beautiful and inviting place that has given us much pleasure.
