Teaching procedures:
Step1: Warming-up
Show some numbers on the screen, and let students guess the relationship between the numbers and me. Then lead in to the topic of “birthday” by talking about my birthday.(展示一些數(shù)字給學(xué)生,通過讓學(xué)生猜測這些數(shù)字與授課教師之間的關(guān)系,從而導(dǎo)入本課的話題“birthday”.此環(huán)節(jié)活躍了課堂氣氛同時檢測了學(xué)生的英語語言綜合運用能力,耗時大約4 mins。)
Step2: Presentation
1.     Present the names of twelve months by using some pictures.(展示一
些能體現(xiàn)每個月份特點的圖片,復(fù)習(xí)學(xué)生在小學(xué)就已經(jīng)學(xué)過的各月份詞匯。此環(huán)節(jié)在讓學(xué)生回憶起已學(xué)月份詞匯的基礎(chǔ)上,同時讓他們表達一些特定節(jié)日的相關(guān)活動,從而拓展他們的詞匯量和提高語言表達能力,耗時大約4 mins。)
1.     Game: flyswatter.
All the students read out the word on the card. Two students come up to the blackboard, and use the flyswatter to hit the word they hear.(用“蒼蠅拍”擊打單詞的游戲檢測學(xué)生對于月份單詞的掌握。學(xué)生對于此游戲的積極性很高,為了增加難度和檢測學(xué)生的辨音能力,在卡紙展示的單詞中加入了“juice”“apple”等較易和“June””April”混淆的單詞。此環(huán)節(jié)大約耗時4 mins。)
3. Make a conclusion of the spelling rules.(讓學(xué)生觀察月份單詞,找到某些單詞之間的共同之處,而后歸納出四組規(guī)則幫助學(xué)生在今后的學(xué)習(xí)中記憶這些單詞,并提醒學(xué)生當(dāng)月份單詞出現(xiàn)在句子中時,首字母要大寫。耗時大約2 mins。)
Step3: Presentation
1.     Present the ordinal numbers from first to thirty-first.(讓學(xué)生觀察黑
板上月份卡紙的數(shù)量,引出one-- twelve的基數(shù)詞。而后通過介紹“January is the first month in a year”,其他月份以此類推,引出first-- twelfth的序數(shù)詞。此環(huán)節(jié)耗時約4 mins。)
2.     I say cardinal numbers, and let students say ordinal numbers one by
one.(此環(huán)節(jié)讓學(xué)生注意后綴“th”的發(fā)音,序數(shù)詞的簡寫方式以及序數(shù)詞和基數(shù)詞之間的差別。此環(huán)節(jié)耗時約2 mins。)
3.     Ask the students to help some numbers find their correct rooms.(此環(huán)
節(jié)設(shè)置五個不同的小房子,讓學(xué)生觀察每個房子內(nèi)基數(shù)詞變序數(shù)詞的特點,而后再幫助一些“迷路”的數(shù)字回家。此環(huán)節(jié)檢測學(xué)生對于基數(shù)詞變序數(shù)詞規(guī)則的理解,耗時約2 mins 。)
Step4: Listen and repeat
Ask students to listen to the tape and read after it.(此環(huán)節(jié)讓學(xué)生跟隨磁帶,學(xué)習(xí)1-31序數(shù)詞的正確讀法,耗時約2 mins。)
Step5: Play a game
Have a competition between boys and girls. Boys say cardinal numbers, and girls say ordinal numbers. (此環(huán)節(jié)檢測學(xué)生對于1-31序數(shù)詞正確讀法的掌握,耗時約3 mins。)
Step6: Read dates
1.     Teach students how to read dates. (教師教授日期的正確讀法,提醒
學(xué)生在月份和日期之間一定要加上“the”, 耗時約1min。)
2.     Have a competition: Let’s see who can read out the dates as quickly as
possible.(此環(huán)節(jié)檢測學(xué)生對于日期正確表達的掌握,耗時約 3 mins。)
Step7:Listen and match
1.     Listen to the conversation between Alice and her teacher, and match
the names, months and dates.(此環(huán)節(jié)完成課本上的聽力練習(xí),檢測學(xué)生聽日期和寫日期的能力,耗時約2mins。)
2.     Check their answers in pairs, and they have to use the following
sentences. ( 通過Pair work的方式檢測學(xué)生的答案,同時讓學(xué)生練習(xí)詢問他人生日的方式,耗時約2 mins。)

Step8: Do a survey (引導(dǎo)學(xué)生運用本課所學(xué)知識,調(diào)查同學(xué)的生日,而后在全體同學(xué)面前做匯報.此環(huán)節(jié)旨在檢測學(xué)生對本課所學(xué)全部知識的掌握情況,耗時約8 mins。)
Make a survey about your classmates’ birthdays, and then report it.
Step9: Moral education (詢問學(xué)生父母的生日,引導(dǎo)學(xué)生在生活中多去關(guān)愛父母,耗時約1min。)
It’s important for us to remember our parents’ birthdays.
Step10: Homework (布置作業(yè),耗時約1min。)
1.Ask your parents about their birthdays.
2.Make a family members’ birthday calendar.

Analysis of students
My students are 13-14 years old and they prefer activities, so I’ll organize some activities, such as games, competition, dialogues and survey.
The topic “ birthday” is very hot among students , so I’m sure I can get them involved in class easily to study language.

Teaching key points and difficulties :
① How to help the students remember so many new words quickly.
② How to help the students to find out the regularity of the ordinal numbers and understand the differences between ordinal numbers and  
    cardinal numbers.
③ How to ask about other people’s birthday.
