Step 7 Language points
1. I learned about the inventions that led to color movies, too. 我還了解了一些發(fā)明,它們成就了彩色電影。
此處learn是“了解;獲知;得知”的意思,由介詞about或of引入所獲知的具體內(nèi)容。例如:
The children were all shocked to learn of the death of their headmaster.
得知校長(zhǎng)去世,孩子們都十分震驚。
I only learned about the accident later. 我只是后來(lái)才得知了事故的情況。 2. I’ve never been camping. 我從未野營(yíng)過。
此句為現(xiàn)在完成進(jìn)行時(shí)。這一時(shí)態(tài)的結(jié)構(gòu)為“have been + 現(xiàn)在分詞”,表示從過去某一時(shí)刻延續(xù)至今的動(dòng)作。在本句中,說話人使用這一時(shí)態(tài)來(lái)強(qiáng)調(diào)自己至今從未有過野營(yíng)的經(jīng)歷,欠缺這方面的經(jīng)驗(yàn)。又如: He’s been watching TV all afternoon. 他一下午都在看電視。
