the number of 意為“……的數(shù)目”,當(dāng)其作主語時(shí),謂語動(dòng)詞應(yīng)用單數(shù)形式。

a number of 意為“很多的; 大量的”, 后跟可數(shù)名詞復(fù)數(shù)形式。

3. If he or she blows out all the candles in one go, the wish will come true.
1) in one go 相當(dāng)于漢語中的“同一次”,“一次性地”,其中
