一、教學內容分析
介紹英國著名景點“巨石陣”，簡單了解它的形狀，誰建造了巨石陣，建造的原因，目的，及歷史學家的對巨石陣不同的觀點。通過閱讀課文，激發學生對秘密勇于探索、認真分析的科學精神，培養學生正確的價值觀。
二、教學目標 一 教學目標 1. 語言知識目標：
1) 能掌握以下單詞：UFO, alien, run after, suit, express, not only...but also..., circle, Britain, receive, leader, midsummer, medical, prevent, energy, position, burial, honor, ancestor, victory, enemy, period 2) 能掌握以下重難句子：
① For many years, historians believed Stonehenge was a temple where ancient leaders tried to communicate with the gods. ② The large stones were put together in a certain way.
③ As you walk there, you can feel the energy from your feet move up your body. 2. 情感態度價值觀目標：
通過PPT和老師的引導，讓學生學習有關英國巨石陣的知識,激發學生對“巨石陣之謎”的興趣， 培養學生對事物的探索精神。不信謠，不傳謠。

任教班級為A層次學生，具有一定的英語基礎，并有一定的自主學習能力。針對教材和學生特點及教材要求，本課將側重培養學生的語言知識，語言技能，情感態度和學習策略及文化素質等素養的基礎上使他們形成綜合運用語言的能力。

九、教學反思
本節課課堂反響不錯。小組競賽貫穿整節課，最后評選出最佳小組，學生們的參與、競爭意識很強，積極性很高。一開始我在Warming up部分組織學生觀看了一個關于巨石陣的視頻，調動了學生的學習熱情和對巨石陣的興趣 。skimming部分讓學生找出關于巨石陣的信息，訓練學生閱讀的能力。Careful reading部分讓學生總結各段的段意，使學習更理解了課文。Post-reading做練習。結合時事開展小組合作、探究，鼓勵學生大膽開口說英語。課后安排學生將討論的結果寫一份報告，訓練學生的寫作能力。這節課也有不足之處。因為課文比較長，內容有點多又是科普性文章，留給學生朗讀的時間不夠充分。再者，在Discussion環節中學生的反應不太理想，積極踴躍表演的小組有限，由此可見，學生的英語表達能力有待進一步提高。
