The Future Continuous Tense
This period will first deal with the basic use of The Future Continuous Tense. The grammar is a difficult point in learning English. What’s more, through the class we may have a better understanding of tense. Meanwhile we can learn to summarize the meaning of the tense by discussion. After that we will have a summary about the basic use of the tense, which is a good chance for the students to train their speaking.

Teaching Procedures
Step 1 Greetings and revision T:Greet the whole class as usual. Step 2 Discussion and lead in
T:First let’s read some sentences and find out what verbs are used in the sentences.pay attention to the grammar form . (Show the following sentences on the screen.) 1. This time tomorrow they will be sitting in the cinema to see a film. 2. When he comes to my house tomorrow, I will be doing my homework. 3. Don't call me up at ten o'clock in the evening. I shall be sleeping then.
(Let the students read the sentences after the teacher.The teacher can give a brief introduction
to the students if necessary or they may discuss with their partners.)
T:Now look at the words in red color on the screen and discuss them in groups .
Can you guess what the basic structure is ?
(The teacher gives the students three minutes to discuss and then asks some students to answer them.)
T:( Later.) Have you finished your discussion? Ss:Yes.
T:OK!Who’d like to answer the question? S:Let me try.I can guess the structure is

T:Very good.Let’s go on. Tet’s work in groups to discuss the basic use of the tense according to the sentences.

I shall be reading a newspaper at eleven o’clock this evening .
S: (1)表示將來某一時刻或某段時間正在發(fā)生的動作

T:Very good.go on.. Read the following sentences and summarize another basic meaning of the tense.
We shall be having a meeting in a minute.
After you take the medicine, you will be feeling much better.
(As for the last question,the teacher can require the students to act them out before the whole class.)
S: (2)表示一種已經(jīng)決定的動作或情況, 或表示某動作將按計劃發(fā)生。
T: Excellent! Go on reading the two sentences.
The bus will be arriving soon.
You will be making a mistake.
What can you know the use of the tense from the sentences? S: (3)表示預(yù)料中要發(fā)生的事情。
T: Excellent. These are the basis use of the future continuous tense. Now we are going to read several sentences. Meanwhile, you should summarize the use of the tense in heart.
She will be having her class at 10:00 o’clock tomorrow morning.
I will be having supper when you come back.
Step 3 Exercise
T:OK!You’ve known something about the future continuous tense. Now we are going to do some exercises,from which we will learn more about the tense and summarize the main use of the tense.

T:You are right.This time,we have learned the basic use of the future continuous tense. shall/will not be + 現(xiàn)在分詞

(1)表示將來某一時刻或某段時間正在發(fā)生的動作
this time tomorrow,
at 4 o’clock tomorrow afternoon
(2)表示一種已經(jīng)決定的動作或情況, 或表示某動作將按計劃發(fā)生。
(3)表示預(yù)料中要發(fā)生的事情。
Step 5 Homework
Rad the passages on page 8 and feel the meaning of the tense and revise the use of the future continuous tense.
Write a short passage using the future continuous tense.
