Teaching Aims
Knowledge Aims:
To learn and be able to use some words, phrases, and sentences.
To know how to describe future.
To practice the future tense.
Ability Aims:
To be able to predict future.
To practice some reading skills, such as skimming and scanning.
Moral Aims:
Learn to be more optimistic and confident for future.
To get prepared for their future.
2The analysis of this module: 
It talks about future life in the following aspects: alternative energy,crime, public services, shopping, environment, traffic and entertainment.
It serves to teach the student some vocabulary and future continuous tense to describe future life.
3The analysis of the student:
 
They have some knowledge background of future tense, but are not that familiar with future continuous tense.
The are interested in future life, and have watched some films about future life, but they had little chances to design their city in the future by themselves.
4Teaching Important&Difficult Points:
Teaching Important points:
Some important vocabulary, such as: material, prediction, limit, recreation, alternative, solar...
Some useful phrases, such as: for sure, rely on, free of charge...
Some sentences: But one thing is certain, they are going to get bigger before they get smaller..., ...there are plenty of things ...which are not certain...
Teaching Difficult Points:
How to understand the predictions by students from Texas better.

Situational Method, Task-based Method, Group work.

7.1Reading and vocabulary
7.1.1Step-1 Review the words
T: Before the class let’s review some words.(Look at the pictures on the screen.)
7.1.2Step-2 Lead-in
To lead in with a famous cartoon character--Bay Max
Question: What does Baymax do for the boy?
         Do you want a Baymax to offer you?
(Health care at present→Health care in the future.→Life in the future.)
7.1.3Step-3 Reading
Fast-reading:(p3)
T: Today we’ll learn the city of the future, now let’s read this passage quickly and finish the two tasks:
Task 1: Pick out the topics in activity one on page3.
Task 2: Divide the article into two parts.
       Part1 Things we can say for sure.
       Part2 How the students will run a future city.
Careful reading:
Read it carefully for details and finish the following tasks:
Task3, Fill in the blanks
