Students will be able to recall the words about appearance learned before and know the new words: young, old, funny.
Students will be able to talk about someone from
     his or her appearance or internal quality.
 Skill Objectives
Students will be able to guess someone’s appearance or internal quality using the new sentence patterns.
Students will be able to use the sentence patterns and new words for real communication.
 Emotion Objectives
Students will be able to know internal quality is more important than appearance.
3學(xué)情分析
The Analysis of Students
The students of Grade 5 have learned English for more than two years. They have already mastered certain basic language knowledge. Most of them are interested in English learning. They are curious about new things. They are eager to behave themselves, full of competitiveness.
The teacher should pay attention to stimulating their interests in English and helping them gain self confidence. What is more, good study habits and effective learning strategies should be developed under the guidance of the teacher.
III.The Philosophy of Design
The new English curriculum strives to accomplish far more than just help students learn English. At one level, Learning English should involve helping students use language for real communication. In order to promote the quality of education, particular attention must be paid to valuing each students’ interests in studying English, helping students gain a sense of achievement and self confidence.

Teaching Steps
  Step1 Warm up and Lead in
Greetings: Greet the students as usual.
Free talk. Talk about your old English teacher.
Design Purpose:To make them active in speaking and elicit the theme of this lesson.
Step2 Presentation
⑴Introduce my favorite stars. Talk about them with the students.
Design Purpose: To review the old words learned before and elicit the new words and sentence pattern.
Talk about students’ favorite stars.
Elicit Wu Yifan and Oliver’s dialogues then listen and answer one question.
Read and answer three questions.
Listen and follow.
Role play.
Step3 Practice
⑴Talk about your teachers using the sentence patterns.
Design Purpose: To practice the new sentence pattern.
Step4 Extension
Talk about your friends or favorite stars.
Step5 Summary
Make a summary about the lesson.       .
Step6.Homework
1. Listen to the tape and follow it.
2. Talk about your teachers and friends with your partners.
