Ⅰ. Teaching aims and demands: 
1. Knowledge aims 
1) Handle new vocabularies and phrases:  
sitcom, news, talk show, soap opera, sports show, game show, talent show 2) Help the students master the sentences structures below：  What do you think of ...?  
I love/ like/ don’t mind/ don’t like/ can’t stand it/ them.  Why?

2. Ability aims 
Guide the students to be involved in different kinds of practice, in order to help them learn to talk about preferences and their plans. 
3. Emotional aims 
Encourage the students to attend activities and show out themselves. Guide the students to enjoy the colorful life and establish right attitudes towards TV shows.

1. Let the students share the names of TV shows that they collected before class and show them on the blackboard 
2. Show some pictures of TV shows to check the students  
Step 3. Practice 
1.Pair work and chain work.  A: What do you think of talk shows?    B: I like them.  A: Why?    
B: Because they are interesting. What do you think of…? C: I can’t stand it/them. B: Why?    
C: Because it is/they are…. 
 
2. Know about partner’s preferences and plans, then introduce your friend to the class  3. Listening

Step4.Production  
Choose a topic and discuss in group, then write a report. 
Homework 
1. Ask your family members about one of the six topics and write a short composition 
2. Read 2d, finish the exercises.
